Roles & Responsibilities

1. Must play a vital role in ensuring that these systems function correctly and integrate seamlessly with the building's electrical infrastructure.

2. He or She should design the power supply infrastructure necessary for the operation of fire protection systems. This includes providing power to components such as control panels, pumps, alarms, and emergency lighting.

3. An Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems, components, and equipment. Their job duties typically involve a mix of technical design, project management, and problem-solving to ensure that electrical systems meet specified requirements. Electrical engineers design and implement these control systems, which may involve programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, actuators, and communication networks.

4. Proficiency in software like AutoCAD Electrical, PDMS Revit, or similar.

5. Knowledge of electrical principles, codes, and standards.

6. Expertise in circuit design and power distribution.

7. Electrical engineers ensure that fire protection systems have access to emergency power in case of a mains power failure. This may involve designing backup power systems such as generators or battery backup systems to ensure uninterrupted operation during emergencies.

8. Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand requirements.

9. Prepare specifications, technical reports, and documentation.

11.Review and revise designs based on feedback and changing project

needs In larger buildings or complexes, fire protection systems may

require communication capabilities to coordinate responses and

relay information to emergency services.

12.Electrical engineers design and implement communication systems such as voice evacuation systems or interfaces with building management systems.

13.Electrical engineers may be involved in testing and maintenance activities for fire protection systems, ensuring that electrical components are functioning correctly and that backup power systems are operational.

14.Electrical engineers ensure that all electrical aspects of the fire protection system comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as NFPA, NEC (National Electrical Code), and local building codes.

15.Electrical engineers may provide training to building staff on the operation and maintenance of electrical aspects of the fire protection system. They also ensure that comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and maintenance procedures, is available for reference.

Requirements

Six days work (Mon – Friday (8.00 am to 5.00 pm) & Sat 8.00 am to 12.30 pm) 44 hours weekly.

Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering from reputed Institute.

Electrical major

Minimum 10 years experiences in Electrical design

Salary Range – S$3500 - S$6500.

Responsibilities

1. Check repaired / overhauled history of components and determine the workscope to perform.

2. Update and maintain database of all the additional requirements from customers to be performed on specific components. Inform workshop to perform these additional requirements for the specific components.

3. Track and update the status of all sub-components that are sent to outhouse vendors. Follow up with outhouse vendors on any queries related to these sub-components.

4. Monitor the availability of all spares that are indicated in Bill of Materials for all workshops.

5. Work closely with SIA and SIAEC Materials Requirement Planning Teams to provision sufficient spares to support operations.

6. Provide regular reports on the performance of outhouse vendors and inhouse workshop.

7. Carry out any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Polytechnic Diploma in engineering or relevant quantitative disciplines

2. 1 - 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in Operations. Those without relevant experience are welcome to apply.

3. Strong skillsets in Operational Planning & Control

4. Open mindedness to approach problems from various angles

5. Good interpersonal communication skills

6. Strong analytical and reporting skills

7. Good computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and SAP would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out testing and commissioning related to marine propulsion systems, power generation systems (Marine and Land), deck machinery, etc.
• Conduct hands-on fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and maintenance of marine systems/components in workshops and on-board vessels.
• Perform hands-on work in mechanical repairs, installation, and removals.
• Provide support to the project team on the implementation of new projects.

Job Scope:

• Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for M&E projects
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project alignment

• Capable of leading CSD/SEM coordination, design interface, coordination for construction of transit project, chair and lead coordination meeting.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience and at least 1 LTA MRT underground projects after tertiary education in related fields for construction supervision of similar scale and complexity.
