Job Overview:

The Formwork Design Engineer is responsible for designing and detailing formwork systems for concrete structures in various construction projects. This role involves collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to ensure formwork designs are efficient, safe, and meet all project requirements and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed formwork designs and drawings for concrete structures, ensuring they are efficient and meet project specifications.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify formwork designs.
  • Ensure formwork designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the formwork can safely support the loads during the construction process.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate formwork materials and systems based on project requirements.
  • Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Coordinate with other engineers and design team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in designs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the formwork installation and removal phases.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Conduct site visits to inspect formwork installations, ensuring they adhere to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in formwork installations.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or licensure (e.g., PE, Chartered Engineer) is desirable.
  • Proven experience in formwork design, structural engineering, or a related role within the construction industry.
  • Willingness to be trained and use Tekla design software is a bonus
  • Proficient in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla) for creating detailed formwork designs.
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
