About the Role:
We are seeking a Resident Engineer (Civil) to join our team working on various construction projects. The role involves assisting the QPS in daily supervision and coordination duties, including working on rotation shifts, which may include night shifts and public holidays. Your role as the Resident Engineer will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects, adherence to regulations, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Provide site supervision for Civil, Structural, and miscellaneous works for infrastructure projects.
- Oversee Resident Technical Officers (RTOs) in their daily duties.
- Coordinate with contractors on work schedules, progress, work quality, site safety, and quality control.
- Liaise and coordinate with relevant authorities and local communities for on-site works.
- Administer contracts, including assessing progress payment claims, variations, extension of time, etc.
- Monitor that the Contractor's work aligns with drawings, specifications, approved methods, and schedules.
- Review Contractor submissions such as materials, suppliers, construction methodology, etc.
- Coordinate with other contractors working on-site.
- Provide regular feedback and reports to the Consultant on work progress and suggest improvements related to safety, supervision, security, construction, and maintenance.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent accreditation recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore.
- Registered as a Resident Engineer accredited by the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) or the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES).
- Possess 3-5 years of site supervision experience as a resident engineer, preferably with HDB/LTA project experience.
- Thorough understanding of Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Regulations, systematic site record maintenance, government contract documents, and compliance with BCA reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project for project updates and reports.
- Familiarity with local codes and regulations.
- Ability to fulfil duties as the Qualified Person (QP) representative as per BCA regulations, reporting to the project QP and Engineers.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in supervising major earthworks, roads, drainage works, PUB pipeline works, and associated projects is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple sites.
