Job Description

• Attend meetings with stakeholder, contractor and supplier
• Supervise the construction of works in accordance with the project plan and drawings.
• Co-ordinate layout plan, detailed drawings and prepare time schedule
• Work closely with customers; co-ordinate with internal staff; manage sub-contractors
• Determine material type and quantities and placing order with internal staff or suppliers
• Supervise, control and coordinate work according to project plan to ensure timely completion and high quality work.
• Conduct frequent sites inspections and meetings to ensure high quality work by sub-contractors and on time delivery of materials in accordance with schedule
• Enforce site safety procedures, identify and manage risks arising from the workplace or work process

Job Description

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, National University of Singapore, is inviting applications for 1 Research Engineer (RE) position under Associate Professor Sibudjing Kawi’s group. The candidate will work on Shell research project entitled “Integrated Catalytic Plasma and Membrane Design for Low-Temperature High-Value Olefins Production from Light Hydrocarbons”.

Qualifications

Master degree in chemistry/chemical engineering in the area of catalysts, inorganic membranes and inorganic membrane reactors for high temperature reactions.
• Proven experience (with good research track record in terms of publications and/or patents) in the field of inorganic hollow fiber membrane synthesis, catalyst synthesis/characterization/testing for hydrocarbon pyrolysis and catalytic membrane reactor design.
• Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
