Field Application Engineer (FAE)

We are seeking an experienced As a Field Application Engineer (FAE), specializing in charging solutions, you will play a pivotal role in bridging our innovative charging technologies with our valued customers across the APAC region. Your deep understanding of our products will enable you to offer exceptional technical support throughout the entire sales cycle, from pre-sales to post-sales activities. Based in Singapore, your collaboration with our sales teams will be crucial in understanding customer needs, delivering compelling technical demonstrations, and providing customized engineering solutions for a variety of charging applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Support: Offer expert technical support and guidance to customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to the application, performance, and integration of our charging solutions.
• Technical Sales Support: Work alongside the sales team to identify customer requirements and present appropriate charging solutions. Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations, tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Product Expertise: Gain a comprehensive understanding of charging technologies to provide tailored advice, training, and support to customers, ensuring they maximize the benefits of our products.
• Collaboration: Liaise with the engineering and product management teams to share customer feedback and contribute to the development of new features and products that meet market needs.
• Training and Documentation: Develop and conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams on the use and maintenance of our charging solutions. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, such as FAQs, application notes, and best practice guides.
• Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies within the charging solutions sector and the broader APAC region to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in electrical or electronic engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in technical support or field application engineering, specifically with charging solutions or related technology sectors.
• Solid technical foundation with the ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts related to charging technologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• A proven track record of delivering customer satisfaction in a technical support role. (on-site service experience)
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel within the APAC region as required to meet with customers and attend industry events.
• Fluent in English, with proficiency in another APAC language highly regarded as to effectively communicate with top management and APAC stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• To perform all roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act
• Ensure that the M&E works are constructed in accordance with drawings and specifications and the Building Control Act and Regulations
• Monitor and report on the progress of works
• Carry out inspection of M&E engineering works prior to concreting, subsequent construction work and defects rectification works
• To carry out supervision and inspection of the works as directed by the Supervision QP, CRE,SRE, consultants or Superintending Officer
• To manage and supervise the Resident Technical Officer under his charge
• Ensure records of all mechanical and engineering works including records of tests, defect rectification, inspections, work progress, material and equipment on site, safety, etc, are timely updated and properly kept
• Attending site, progress, variation and coordination meetings
• Verifying all reports and claims relating to M&E works submitted by the contractors
• Liaise with all relevant authorities and stakeholders to maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done including records of tests, inspections, status of work, safety, site diary, material on site and equipment on site, labour force, day works, provisional items or provisional quantities etc.
• Keeping accurate record of variations as instructed or approved by the Superintending Officer and to maintain a set of updated drawings on site
• Check all drawings (including shopdrawings, construction drawings and specifications for discrepancies and to report to the Supervision QP, consultants or Superintending Officer

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience as a mechanical and electrical engineer, of which at least three (3) years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works in buildings, services laying and lighting & control systems.
• Degree/ Diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering degree recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• Preferably with experience in the supervision of infra services laying, lighting & control systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

Independent and self-motivated.

Familiar with Excel spreadsheet and Word document.

Coordinate, manage, supervise and liaise with Contractors for instrument installation and monitoring works.

Attending site progress meetings, preparation of minutes and coordination with clients.

Process and interpret monitoring readings.

Coordinate with construction team to minimise obstruction and damage of the monitoring instruments

Experience in handling Instrumentation & Monitoring projects of more than S$1 million.

Experience in compiling Inclinometers, Piezometers, Extensometers, Settlements Markers, Pressure and Load Cells, Strain Gauges, Tilt Meters, Crack Meters and Prisms is required.

Any other duties as assigned by Project Manager.

Requirements

Diploma/ Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology from recognized Institutions/ Universities.

Preferably with at least 5 years site experience and compiling instrumentation reports.

Experience in Reclamation projects.

Possess valid Geotechnical Instrumentation for Engineers Certificate issue by Geotechnical Society of Singapore (GeoSS).
