ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Thales is seeking suitable candidate for the position of Service support engineer.

You will be maintaining and troubleshooting the hardware infrastructure and systems for a mission-critical Seamless Identity Management Platform for Experience (SIMPLE) system that Thales Solutions Asia (TSA) have designed for Singapore Changi Airport.

You will be part of a team of dedicated engineers that demonstrate superior technical competency in ensuring system availability, performance and security

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As aField Service Engineer, you are accountable for:

· Field Support. To carry out Corrective Maintenance (CM) as a result of failure of the hardware and software related to SIMPLE. To restore the system to its operational condition. To monitor and maintain the records of the overall system operational availability and reliability, including Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), system downtime duration and the types of hardware defects as well as all related software versions, patches.

· Field Testing. To carry out software testing on the system whenever there is a new software bug fixes. To ensure the correct configuration of the system is loaded for software / system testing and before the system is used for production.

· Spares Services. To manage the spares provisioning, support and test equipment and other tools that are stored at Authority site. To undertake store keeping functions in respect of receipt, issue and disposal. To carry out serviceability check on the spares and to ensure prompt and appropriate action is taken to rectify any fault on the spares. To monitor the end-of-life and end-of-support status of the spares and installed hardware.

· Preventive Maintenance (PM). To carry out PM on the hardware to retain the system in the specified operational condition in accordance to the planned maintenance schedule. In carrying out the PM, to follow the approved PM checklists to perform calibration, servicing and verification of system configurations. To submit the PM report after each PM.

· Calibration Services. To liaise with vendor to perform calibration services on the test equipment that are used for the preventive maintenance.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Key Responsibilities

• Full spectrum of HR & Administrative duties
• Assist to manage employees’ matters in areas of compensation matters, appraisal for annual increment and performance bonus

Responsibilities:

• Reviews technical specifications, drawings, procedures, and standards pertaining to project requirements
• Prepares and reviews the project quality documents, procedure, ITP
• Reviews drawings, documents, and weekly update drawing register form documents controller and distribute to project Quality Assurance personnel.
• Administrates the project's internal quality audit to ensure compliance with the project quality plan.
• Monitors the inspection and documentation activities of the Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure compliance with the inspection test plan and project quality requirements
• Resolves quality-related issues arising from subcontractor and in-house production
• Ensures protection and preservation of various systems
• Ensures updates on electrical completion and mechanical completion progress in the project database
• Assigns the systems to be tested by the various supervisors and technicians involved in the operation
• Reviews the quality work processes to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Coordinates the testing and commissioning requirements with Engineering, Project Manager, Quality Assurance Department, and vendors

Requirements:

• Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine and Offshore or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance working experience, and the offshore or marine industry

The Construction Supervisor shall play a key role in assisting the Construction Manager ; the conceptual development of the various construction projects and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

He/she will need to plan, lead and monitor progress and performance against the project plan whilst managing the day-to-day operational aspects of projects which includes manpower planning, construction progress monitoring, preparation of master schedule and cost control.

Perform cost management to manage projects within approved budgets, include materials, manpower and machinery cost control for new and running projects. Exercising timely instructions to deal with the results of delays, or emergencies at construction project sites. Reviewing manpower planning and monitoring of work schedules to ensure orderly delegation of jobs and smooth operation.

Exercising effectively safe and economical methodology and enforces project standards.

To maintain close collaboration with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and all stakeholders to minimise errors in the process to achieve a smooth and on-time completion of the projects. To also liaise closely with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, relevant authorities and developers in resolving site issues and authorities’ compliances issues to avoid discrepancies.

• Participate in product development of data quality monitoring and management. The product implements quality control and monitors trade messages between various systems with custom routing rules and message transformation with extensive use of message queues and middleware technologies.

Contract Period: From April 2025 for 24 months

Working hours:

Total about 80 hours/month

· Mondays to Fridays: 8.30 am to 12.30pm by default or

· Mondays to Fridays: 1.30 am to 5.30pm when required by the Board

· Lunch break 1 hour (Mon to Fri), time to be 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

Scope of works:

· Assist in the planning stages by providing technical input on the feasibility, safety, and environmental considerations of the Demolition and Land Reinstatement.

· Coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project alignment.

· Supervise all on-site activities related to demolition and reinstatement, ensuring compliance with the project plan, safety regulations, and quality standards.

· Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure that all work is executed as per the design and specifications.

· Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of all site personnel.

· Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and safety plans provided by Contractors.

· Ensure that the materials and the workmanship meet the required standards and specifications.

· Address any non-compliance issues by directing corrective actions and overseeing their implementation.

· Maintain detailed records of the project’s progress, including daily logs, material delivery notes, and site reports.

· Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the project manager and client, highlighting any issues, delays, or deviations from the plan.

· Provide on-the-spot solutions to technical challenges that arise during the demolition or reinstatement process.

· Liaise with design engineers and other experts to resolve complex technical issues.

· Oversee the final inspection and testing of the reinstated plant facilities to ensure they meet tender requirements.

· Manage the handover process to the authorities, including the provision of asbuilt drawings, operation manuals, and maintenance schedules.

· Specific Project Scope Responsibilities by liaising with the main contractor (not limited to):

- Structural Assessments: Conduct or oversee detailed structural assessments to determine the safety and stability of existing structures before demolition.

- Geotechnical Surveys: Carry out geotechnical surveys to assess soil stability, bearing capacity, and potential issues related to ground movement during demolition.

- Real-Time Sensors Monitoring During Demolition: Ensure integration of sensors in the demolition works by the Contractor for real-time data collection and analysis, improving decision-making and risk mitigation management. E.g. Structural Integrity Monitoring, Vibration Monitoring, Air Quality Monitoring, Noise Level Monitoring, Temperature and Fire Detection, Ground and Soil Movement Monitoring, Worker Safety Monitoring that project is completed safely and within regulatory frameworks.

- Environmental and Safety Compliance: Ensure that the demolition and reinstatement processes comply with environmental and safety regulations.

- Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor site conditions, progress, and quality of work, providing detailed reports to project managers and stakeholders.

- Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with the demolition and reinstatement process, particularly related to structural integrity and ground stability, and develop mitigation strategies.

Qualification, skill, experience:

· A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or GeoTechnical Engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent is necessary.

· Professional Engineer (Singapore PE in Civil or Geo-Technical) license is preferred.

· Certifications in safety management (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) or environmental management is advantageous. Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., The Institution of Engineers Singapore, IES) is beneficial.

· A about of 5 years of relevant experience in Civil /& GeoTechnical engineering, particularly in projects involving demolition, structural assessments, and construction. Experience in large-scale industrial or plant settings or large infrastructure projects including relevant water retaining structure construction experience is preferred.

· Experience in managing large-scale projects, including coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulations, and handling complex logistics.

· Proficiency in civil structural analysis for designing and reviewing plans and project management.

· Skills in geotechnical analysis, soil mechanics, and foundation engineering.

· Thorough understanding of local and international standards, codes, and regulations related to demolition and construction.

· Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, including site engineers/resident technical officers, contractors, and safety officers.

· Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, regulatory bodies, and contractors.

· Competence in preparing detailed reports, technical documentation, and ensuring all communications are well-documented.
