Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been serving the community since its official opening on 31 July 2010. Job Description & Requirements

· Plan, supervise, and deliver the program in accordance with the policies, guidelines, frameworks, and philosophy of MindChamps.

· Prepare and implement programs and age-appropriate teaching aids

· Keep accurate records of the children’s progress and address the children’s educational and developmental needs individually

· Complete the progress reports of the children for each semester and prepare a developmental portfolio for every child

· Communicate with parents via the Connection Book at least once a week, weekly team newsletters, and conferences

· Meet the parents to address any concerns

· Use positive discipline techniques at all times

· Guide and supervise the Assistant Teacher in the classroom

· Render basic first aid as and when necessary

· Responsible for the upkeep of teaching resources, arrangement, appearance, decorations and learning environment of the classroom

· Be familiarised with all working curriculum documents, handbooks, and policy manual

The work of a preschool teacher at Orion Preschool entails:

• Designing and implementing age-appropriate curricula
• Creating a safe and secure environment for children through trusting and respectful relationships.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

• Possesses a DECCE / ACEY or equivalent
• Working experience as a preschool teacher will be an advantage
• Has a firm understanding of Child Development.
• Able to apply Curriculum Framework to planning and implementation of early childhood education programme.
• Passionate about working with young children.

Responsibilities

· Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in accordance with students’ need

· Lesson preparation and marking, including the preparation of appropriate teaching aids and resources

· Classroom administration

· Completing student progress reports for students each semester

· Establishing and maintaining good relationships with students and parents

· Assessing and reporting on the development, behavior, performance and progress of students

· Providing regular updates to parents on students’ performance and progress

· Conducting training for part-time teachers when needed

· Participating in marketing events and open houses as ambassadors of the company, as required

· Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

· A good Diploma/Degree

· English Teachers with CELTA, TESOL or TEFL certification will have priority consideration

· Able to follow tuition centre working schedule (i.e. work during both weekends)

· Relevant experience is preferred

· Nurturing, possesses a natural affinity with children

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and classroom management skills
