Pastry & Bakery Chef Instructor will provide training & instruction to all levels of students and deliver the programme content in accordance with Edutrust Criteria, and Internal SOPs, Policies and Processes and thereby meeting the required quality standards set by the Academy from time to time and championing student success.

Make recommendations on improvements to the delivery of courses, content, knowledge and skills as part of the continuous improvement to achieve excellence and improve our competitive advantage. Follow the relevant SOP’s and required Governance before implementation of recommendations.

Provide support and coaching to students where required to ensure their success and avoid any deferment of withdrawal. Make referrals to Student Services where students show signs of needing support.

Responsibilities & Major Activities

• Preparation for lessons in advance to deliver the required curriculum

The SKILT Centre – the SpecialKids Intervention, Learning and Therapy Centre established in collaboration with SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic, provides a holistic series of programmes that target individuals aged 2 and upwards, through teenage years.

Role & Responsibilities

· Identify and assess individual therapy needs of clients using appropriate assessment tools and assessment forms.

· Facilitate development of appropriate and effective tools for identification, assessment, intervention.

· Formulate and implement individual/group therapy programmes for clients with speech and language disorder, social communication difficulties, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, etc.

· Provide intervention for clients on a one-to-one basis, group, class, work experience or special setting based on the needs of the students.

· Evaluate and document clients' therapy needs and progress regularly, and review the effectiveness of the intervention.

· Provide consultation and update clients’ status to relevant staff members and caregivers.

· Work in collaboration with teaching/non-teaching staff and family/caregivers for the effective enhancement of services.

· Provide written report, case notes about the assessments that have been undertaken and possible speech and language therapy recommendations.

Requirements

· Bachelor Degree in Speech & Language Pathology/Speech Therapy recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore

· Minimum 3 years’ speech language pathology experience or prior working experience in a special education setting will be an added advantage

· Knowledge and experience in working with children with special needs and a wide range of disabilities.

· Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced work environment

· Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

· High standard of report writing

· Able to commit to work on Saturdays

Be a part of the DAS Specialised Educational Services (SES) division's dynamic team providing specialist services to children from both local and international schools in Singapore.

The work of a Speech-Language Therapist may involve:

• Identifying speech, language and communication difficulties in clients for an age range of 5 years to 18 years of age.
• Managing a caseload with support as required and in consultation with the DAS multi-disciplinary team.
• Providing therapy to a diverse group of clients including children with speech and language disorder, social communication difficulties, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, dyspraxia and oral motor issues.
• Working with clients on a one-to-one basis and in groups to deliver therapy. This includes conducting holiday workshops.
• Planning, delivering and monitoring treatment programmes.
• Recording outcome measures to evaluate intervention.
• Using assistive technology to stimulate interest in therapy sessions.
• Liaising closely with parents, caregivers and/or educators and providing regular updates for them.
• Planning and delivering training sessions for parents and educators.
• Writing and maintaining confidential client case notes and reports, as well as information for clients' carers and other professionals.
• Providing information for statistical reporting and/or funding requests.
• Participating in research projects, conference presentations and awareness talks.
• Attending and/or providing mentoring and supervision.
• Undertaking clinical audit to ensure that high quality standards are maintained.
• Being responsible for maintaining Continuing Professional Development and registration with professional bodies such as the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) and Speech and Language Therapy Singapore (SALTS).

Requirements

• A Bachelor or Master degree in Speech-Language Pathology that is recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore.
• No prior experience required

• An understanding of a variety of assessments and treatment programmes
• Commitment and ability to work with a range of clients with speech, language and communication difficulties
