Game Linguistic / Language Quality Assurance (LQA)
Type of position: Permanent, New role
Salary: S$3500 – S$4800 per month
Location: Based in Singapore
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am to 7pm
Job Scope:
This Game Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA) will be responsible for ensuring that the localized English version of our various games possess the same high standards and quality when comparing it against the original Chinese version.
This role involves evaluating all the text and word choices within the games, such as on the UI elements, menus, and pop-ups etc. He / She will have to pay close attention to words phrasing, meaning / definition and relevancy.
He / She will also be able to provide feedback and suggestions on UI (User interface), UX (User experience) to improve our players’ gaming experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Thoroughly play the original Chinese version of the game as well as the localized English version to evaluate linguistic accuracy and quality.
· Be familiar with the various games’ mechanics, story / narrative to understand the intended meaning of the texts.
· Assess the choice of words used in the English localization for appropriateness and definition consistency.
· Identify any awkward phrasing, mis-translations, or areas where the text does not fit within UI constraints (such as words are too long inside the text boxes).
· Provide clear and constructive feedback on specific text passages, suggesting alternative wording where necessary to enhance clarity and engagement.
· Work and communicate with the project teams’ Producer and the localization team to resolve language, UI, UX issues and implement suggested changes to them effectively.
· Any other game QA, project job duties as and when needed.
Job Requirements:
· Good to strong proficiency in both English and Chinese (to play the original created/launched mobile games);
· Possess very good gaming experience, plays a range of games;
· A proactive team player who have a keen eye for details and a meticulous person;
· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to give clear feedback and work with colleagues based overseas;
· Previous experience in game QA or related roles is an added advantage.
