UWCSEA Dover is seeking a Teacher of Primary School Learning Support from August 2025 to join our dynamic and flexible support team. The Learning Support position focuses on fostering an inclusive environment that prioritises a student-centred and strength-based approach. UWCSEA are in the initial phases of implementing a tiered support model, and this role involves collaborating with the team around the child to ensure all students can thrive within the UWCSEA learning programme. The successful candidate will be required to have an understanding of tiered support structures and systems within large and dynamic educational organisations.

The candidate should have recent Primary School teaching experience and hold relevant qualifications that support students with learning differences. Enthusiasm for and experience in teaching students between age range 4 to ­11 is essential.

Main Responsibilities

• To support students with individual learning needs to achieve their full potential and access the five elements of UWCSEA’s Learning Programme.
• Working with students in classrooms and small groups, in the areas of Academic, Social, Emotional and Behavioural Support.
• Collaborate and support class teachers to provide differentiated programmes, write individualised plans and conduct parent meetings for individual students.
• Support leadership, teachers and other school staff in identifying root causes of student learning challenges and ways to meet students' needs.
• Provide coaching to staff to support the implementation of in-class support plans including workshops.
• Work closely with and support families in establishing positive home-school communication.
• Work collaboratively in a specific grade level, the learning support team and the wider primary school team.
• To provide a happy, stimulating, safe learning environment for all children and to expect standards of individual excellence from all.
• Confidently use and gather different types of data from multiple sources to monitor student progress and well-being around specific educational goals.

Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for delivering classroom instruction that helps students learn and excel and developing students’ abilities and interest through creative activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans the curriculum for the year for the respective grade
• Develops the lesson plan in accordance with the curriculum guidelines, and presents the lesson plans to the academic coordinators for approval
• Reviews the feedback from the academic coordinators and revises the lesson plans accordingly
