Job Description

• Demonstrating exercises to students and providing individualized instruction and corrections
• Determining what equipment is needed for classes, such as balls, mats, blocks, straps, exercise balls, resistance bands, and weights
• Teaching students stretching exercises to improve flexibility, posture, and cardiovascular health
• Demonstrating how to use exercise equipment in a safe manner
• Scheduling classes and communicating with clients about class times and cancellations
• Demonstrating proper technique to students during classes
• Assisting students with proper form during exercise routines
• Observing students during class to monitor form, posture, breathing patterns, technique, and safety precautions
• Leading group fitness classes that focus on strengthening the core muscles and improving balance and flexibility.

Pilates Instructor Skills

Pilates instructors need the following skills in order to be successful:

Communication skills: Communication skills are another important skill for a Pilates instructor to have. This is because they often work with clients one-on-one and need to be able to explain the exercises and routines they are teaching. Knowledge of exercises and routines: A thorough understanding of the exercises and routines used in a Pilates class is essential for a successful career as a Pilates instructor. Instructors should be able to explain the purpose of each exercise and how it can help students meet their fitness goals. They should also be able to create a variety of routines that challenge students of all skill levels.

Patience: Patience is another skill that can help a Pilates instructor be more effective in their job. Many students may be new to the Pilates method and may need more guidance and instruction than an experienced practitioner. Having patience can help you provide your students with the support they need to learn the Pilates method and see results.

Leadership: Leadership skills can help a pilates instructor guide their students through a workout. They can use their leadership skills to motivate their students and encourage them to push themselves during a workout. Student Care Teacher - Beauty World

Subject: English language, Chinese language, Math & Science subject

Salary: $1800-$2400

Working Days & Hours: 5 days | Mon-Fri: 11am to 7pm (School days), 8am-7pm (School holidays)

Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and resources.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes language development, numerical fluency, and scientific inquiry.
• Assess students' abilities and progress, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
• Use effective teaching methods to support students in their learning journey, providing individualized attention and guidance as needed.
• Organize and facilitate activities and experiments that foster a love for learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans that align with the MOE syllabus or other relevant curricula.
• Maintain a safe and conducive learning environment, ensuring students' well-being and adhering to safety protocols.
• Establish effective communication and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a strong partnership in supporting students' educational journey.
• Contribute to the overall growth and development of the student care program by participating in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
• Co-ordinate with other teachers in the centre in planning daily activities including fetching of students from nearby school.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, English language, Mathematics, Science, Chinese language subject or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching young children in a student care or educational setting.
• Familiarity with the MOE syllabus for English language, Math, Science or Chinese language subject or other relevant curricula.
