To provide support in the teaching at the Preschool / Infant and Toddler Centre to meet operational needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Planning and Delivery
· Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate lessons that align with the preschool curriculum and the principles of early childhood education.
· Develop engaging and creative activities to nurture children’s language, literacy, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
· Tailor teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of children.
2. Classroom Management and Environment
· Establish and maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children.
· Organize and arrange classroom resources to encourage exploration and independent learning.
· Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and interactions.
3. Child Development and Assessment
· Monitor and document each child’s progress through observations, assessments, and learning portfolios.
· Identify developmental milestones and areas for improvement, providing targeted support where needed.
· Regularly update parents on their child’s progress and development.
4. Language and Literacy Development
· Develop children’s proficiency in English through interactive storytelling, phonics, songs, and language-rich activities.
· Foster effective communication skills and confidence in expressing ideas.
· Encourage a love for reading and writing through engaging activities and a print-rich environment.
5. Parent and Community Engagement
· Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication and consultations.
· Collaborate with parents to support children’s learning and development.
· Participate in preschool events, workshops, and community activities to foster a sense of belonging.
6. Collaboration and Professional Development
· Work collaboratively with other educators and staff to plan and implement cohesive programs.
· Share best practices and participate in team discussions to enhance teaching strategies.
· Attend professional development sessions to stay current with early childhood education trends and methodologies.
7. Health, Safety, and Well-being
· Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children by adhering to preschool policies and guidelines.
· Teach and reinforce good hygiene and healthy habits.
· Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate first aid when necessary.
8. Compliance and Documentation
· Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and lesson plans.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and preschool standards.
· Prepare and submit reports as required by the preschool management.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent.
· Proficiency in the English language with excellent communication skills.
· Passionate working with young children and fostering their development.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
· At least 1 year of working experience in the related field is preferred for this position.
