The required job scope relates to supporting the education development of the child and children of the client. Experience in dealing with children and youths with special need requirement (minor) is required.

The main responsibility of this role includes providing holistic educational support and assistance for children who are currently enrolled in an international school. The Family Teacher will play a critical role in the children’s daily lives, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes their intellectual, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Educational Support:

• Assist with homework and school assignments, ensuring adherence to international school curriculum standards.

• Manage tutors in various subjects as needed, particularly in English, Chinese, and other subjects and interest classes.

• Coordinate with school teachers to monitor academic progress and address any learning challenges.

• Facilitate educational activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

2. Childcare:

• Supervise daily routines including meal times, recreational activities, and bedtime.

• Arrange and transport to extracurricular activities, appointments, and social engagements.

• Implement and maintain a structured daily schedule that balances learning, play, and rest.

3. Cultural and Emotional Support:

• Foster a positive and culturally aware environment, respecting the family’s values and traditions.

• Provide emotional support and guidance, particularly in the absence of parents.

• Encourage social interaction and cultural exploration in Singapore’s diverse setting.

4. Household Coordination:

• Liaise with other household staff for smooth running of the household.

• Ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children.

• Keep parents regularly updated on children’s progress and daily activities.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree

• With experience as a tutor or in a similar role, preferably with children in an international school setting, and special need (light requirements)

• Excellent command of English; proficiency in Mandarin is good to have

• Familiarity with the Singaporean education system and international curriculum.

• Planning which accommodates a range of ability levels and learning styles; teachers are expected to modify and accommodate for students as needed, i.e. accommodating individual language needs (EAL), student support services, students who are struggling as well as students who need more of a challenge

Job Role

• Collaborate in the development and maintenance of School Care manuals.
• Implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies, guidelines, framework and philosophy of the centre.
• Monitor and manage student enrolment, waiting lists and intakes while staying current on industry developments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct classes under the direction and supervision of the Senior Teachers/Assistant Senior Teacher/Reporting Manager. This entails the following:
• Assess the developmental needs of the children and plan Individual Educational Programme (IEP) and Progress Report (PR) to address the needs of the children in the assigned classes.
• Manage or chair case conference discussions with parents, caregivers, teachers and therapists/ Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).
• Plan, facilitate and evaluate quality intervention strategies, developmentally and culturally appropriate classroom activities, experiences and environments for the children through the lessons.
• Monitor, assess, record and report development and progress of the children. Reporting is necessary for home visit, centre visit, discharge and Special Education (SPED) application.
• Conduct individual and group activities (including field trips) for the children.
• Conduct home visits and centre visits along with other staff members of the professional team.
• Share responsibilities for the upkeep and maintenance of the classrooms to ensure cleanliness and safety of the environment, as well as the sourcing, purchasing, creating and inventory of all equipment, teaching aids and resources in the classrooms.
• Cover classes/ sessions whenever necessary and share responsibilities on all matters pertaining to the assigned classes.
• Monitor attendance of children and ensure proper health check and temperature taking of the children.

Requirements:
