Job Responsibilities

• Teach small class sizes of up to 10 students.
• Conduct engaging and enriching English lessons, with structured materials written by our in-house Curriculum experts.
• Foster a safe and positive learning environment, embodying a growth mindset to guide and nurture students.
• Meticulously mark and return students’ work on time. Keep track of their performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
• Build rapport with parents and update them on their child’s academic and personal progress.

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year experience teaching English and/or writing in a school or learning centre.
• A Degree from a reputable university, preferably in related fields of Law, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or Communications.
• Excellent academic track record, particularly in English and General Paper (GP).
• Passionate about teaching English and writing to primary and secondary school students.
• Willing to develop skills and implement strategies to teach and support students of differing levels and competencies.
• Willing to adopt TWC's ethos and pedagogy.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills to effectively engage all stakeholders.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Able to teach and mark effectively, managing the weekly workload of your assigned classes.
• Able to commit to classes until the end of the academic year (in December).
• Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and number of classes contracted for.

Job Description:

You will report to the Head of Department (Languages) and your duties will include: -

• Preparing English lessons and Scheme of Work according to the required syllabuses

• Conducting learning activities in the classroom

• Setting and vetting examination papers

• Invigilating tests and examinations

• Marking assignments and examination scripts

• Assessing and recording students’ progress according to department and school policies

• Organising relevant events, competitions, activities when needed

• Providing pastoral care and manage students’ discipline; performing all aspects of Care Teacher duties if

Job Description

• Plan, supervise, and implement the English programme to support the Japanese curriculum in alignment with the Centre’s policies and framework.
• Prepare lesson plans and conduct evaluations for English lessons tailored to students learning English as a second language.
• Work independently and mentor beginning teachers.
• Manage the classroom effectively and maintain active communication with parents.
• Ensure the safety and hygiene of the children at all times.
• Serve as the Senior Teacher for the centre, overseeing and enhancing the school’s English programme in support of the Japanese curriculum.

Requirements

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or its equivalent recognized by ECDA.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in Japanese childcare or preschool.
• Experience with Montessori-based curriculum is an advantage.
• Passion for teaching young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
