Responsibilities:

Operational (75%)

· Perform data input for sales, related cost & expenses, operating expenses transaction;

· Perform allocation of receipt or payment entries;

· Reconciliation of company bank account, account receivables and account payables

· against external parties’ statements;

· Generate monthly profit & loss and balance sheet report;

· Maintain proper operational documentation;

· Assist in quarterly/yearly external audits;

· Other jobs as assigned.

Projects (25%)

· Assist and support for J-Sox audit and other project initiatives.

Requirements:

· Minimum Diploma in LCCI.

· At least 2 years of accounting working experience.

· Familiar with Microsoft Excel, SAP accounting system is advantageous.

· Ability to multi task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The primary role as a Customer Service Executive is to manage all sales support and customer service activities of the Singapore accounts.

Department / Role overview

Working as part of our Global Risk & Compliance Department, the Conflicts & Ethics Team is responsible for analysing all new clients and matters to identify and resolve legal and commercial "conflicts of interest".

The role is ideally suited to an individual with a clear and confident communication style, and a desire to work collaboratively with a dynamic and motivated team. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and an interest in current affairs. A legal qualification is not essential, but problem solving and professionalism are key. You will work alongside colleagues from Glasgow, London, Perth and Sydney, to provide conflicts clearance as our partners and clients pursue the most exciting deals on offer across the globe.

Main responsibilities

Business as usual:

• Develop and maintain knowledge of the rules of professional conduct applicable across the countries in which Ashurst lawyers practise
• Use your research skills to identify and verify clients, third parties and assets involved in new business requests
• Develop and apply your understanding of legal transactions to determine the relationships between parties involved in a particular matter; and if in doubt, liaise with the partners and lawyers
• Analyse information in the firm’s conflict management systems and other databases to identify any potential conflicts of interest
• Work collaboratively with team members and Senior Management to find solutions to potential legal and commercial conflicts
• Record excellent phone notes, legal and commercial analysis to serve as a record of compliance for our insurers, regulators and firm management
• Maintain the highest standards of data quality within the conflicts database.

Other tasks

• Work across function groups (Finance, HR, IT, Business Development) to tackle projects and solve problems

Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience

• Prior experience within Risk & Compliance ideally within a professional services/corporate environment
• An interest in the work undertaken by a corporate multinational firm
• A desire to understand the business and work closely as a team to solve problems
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and able to work well under pressure
• Strong IT literacy and the ability to adapt to new processes and technology quickly
• Strong interpersonal skills required to engage all levels of legal and support staff
• The discretion required to maintain confidential information appropriately

Background checks

We are looking for a self-motivated, meticulous and committed individual to join the Representation and Law Reform department. The successful candidate will be required to perform committee administration and legal administrative work, as well as provide support for the work of the Law Society’s Practice Committees, for the benefit of the Society’s members and the legal profession.

Responsibilities

• Organise and take minutes for Practice Committee meetings and meetings with the Courts and other external stakeholders
• Perform legal administrative work, including collating and consolidating legal inputs, as well as basic legal research and legal drafting
• Support and facilitate the work and various initiatives of the Council of the Law Society and the Practice Committees

Requirements

• A Diploma in law
• At least 2 years’ of experience as a paralegal or legal support staff in a law firm
• Experience in supporting transactional or corporate work will be an asset
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong language ability with demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently but also as a team player
• Good administrative and organisational skills
• Highly ethical, discreet and able to maintain confidentiality
• Proficient in MS Office
