We are looking for a self-motivated, meticulous and committed individual to join the Representation and Law Reform department. The successful candidate will be required to perform committee administration and legal administrative work, as well as provide support for the work of the Law Society’s Practice Committees, for the benefit of the Society’s members and the legal profession.
Responsibilities
- Organise and take minutes for Practice Committee meetings and meetings with the Courts and other external stakeholders
- Perform legal administrative work, including collating and consolidating legal inputs, as well as basic legal research and legal drafting
- Support and facilitate the work and various initiatives of the Council of the Law Society and the Practice Committees
Requirements
- A Diploma in law
- At least 2 years’ of experience as a paralegal or legal support staff in a law firm
- Experience in supporting transactional or corporate work will be an asset
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong language ability with demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently but also as a team player
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Highly ethical, discreet and able to maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in MS Office
