The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications for the position of Research Associate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up lab-scale pyrolysis system and optimize the pyrolysis process
- Characterize feedstocks and final products
- Application of sludge biochar in odour control and heavy metals removal
- Perform sample analysis using advanced analytical equipment (GC, BET, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, etc.)
- Be responsible for data acquisition and processing
- Manage project budget and research team, interact with funding agencies
- Prepare research reports and presentation materials.
Job Requirements:
- At least have a Master degree in Environmental / Chemical / Biochemical Engineering, or related disciplines
- Hands on experience in biochar production and characterization. Experiences on biochar for odor control and heavy metals removal technologies will be advantageous.
- Good laboratory and planning skills.
- Ability to learn new techniques quickly.
- Good writing and communication skills in English.
- Possess self-motivation and independence
- Excellent teamwork awareness
- Able to commence work in short notice will be preferred.
