Job Summary

Assist Unit Leader, Residential Care (RC) in the operations of the Home to ensure that all the residents are provided with quality care and protection.

Provide proper supervision, guidance and quality care are delivered to the children or youths in an identified unit (approx. 10 to 15 residents) in Melrose Home.

Duties and Responsibilities

Home Management

• Programme Development:

To support and support the Unit Leaders and Senior Guidance Officers’ efforts in developing and implementing biopsychosocial or educational programmes in the unit.

Resident Management:

• Supervision of Residents’ Physical Needs - To ensure residents received adequate food nourishment and support them in doing their laundry.

Supervision of Residents’ Psychosocial Needs

• To provide supervision and care to the residents. The GO is to actively promote the involvement of all residents in the Home’s social group, counter the isolation of individuals by others, nurture friendships between residents, and support those residents who for any reason do not readily “fit in” to the social group.
• To guide and develop socially acceptable behaviour in residents, in a manner that does not infringe on their rights or the rights of others, and which is consistent with sound behaviour management principles.
• To support the residents’ adherence to the Unit’s behaviour management system. This system gives clarity to the rules and requirements of the Home and sets clear expectations on how residents should relate to one another.
• To manage residents’ behavioural issues using a trauma-informed approach.
• To provide guidance for residents in supporting their growth and development and motivate/mentor the residents.
• To provide support for the positive social and emotional development of the residents.

Health and Hygiene

• To ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the Home’s premises and the unit’s dormitory.
• To educate and reinforce acceptable personal hygiene standards to youth and children.
• To oversee the medical and health needs of the residents in the unit.

Academic and Cognitive Needs

• To oversee the academic needs of the residents in the unit.

Crisis Management

• To provide on-site incident or crisis management when necessary

Supervision Outside of Melrose Home

• To escort and supervise youths and children to and from the clinic, the hospital, the school or to attend programmes and activities outside the Home.

Integrated Care Plans

• In consultation with the Caseworker, to support the Residents’ integrated care plans through the programmes delivered in the unit or through day to day tasks/activities

Undertake any other duties directed by Unit Leader and / or Manager, RC

Note: The residential home setting is a 24/7 facility. Guidance Officers are rostered to work shifts (sometimes 7am to 4pm, mostly 1pm to 10pm; 5 days a week with 2 rotational off days).

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• To troubleshoot and maintain/service security systems at clients’ premises
• Attend to fault calls during office hours and standby duties after office hours in rotating duty roster
• Liaise closely with client representatives on all service/maintenance related issues.
• Manage day-to-day client interactions and expectations for optimal results..
• Familiarize yourself and deliver customer satisfaction base on each client’s business, organization and objectives.
• Ensure that works carried out are in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act.

Requirements

• Min Higher Nitec & Nitec in Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant with at least 2 years working experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Performing access control to ensure that only authorized visitors (eg. Parents) and staff are allowed entry into school compound.

What this job involves:

Managing financial operations

As a Finance Account Officer, you'll be responsible for overseeing critical financial operations. You'll maintain accounting and control procedures in line with client's policies, prepare annual budgets, monitor budget utilisation, and provide variance analysis. Your role will be crucial in managing the collection of maintenance and sinking funds, as well as ensuring timely processing and payment of vendor invoices.

Handling accounts receivable and payable

You'll be responsible for the timely processing and posting of invoices for quarterly maintenance contributions, annual berthing, and license fees. This includes generating accurate customer invoices, monitoring outstanding debts, and updating payments promptly. On the accounts payable side, you'll verify invoice accuracy, ensure proper coding, and submit payments for approval according to client's procurement and payment policies.

Financial reporting and analysis

A key aspect of your role will be preparing various financial reports, including Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Accounts Receivable/Payable Aging Reports. You'll need to perform financial analysis of these reports, providing meaningful insights and commentary. You'll also be responsible for month-end closings, preparing journal entries, and GST reports.

Managing arrears and audits

You'll play a crucial role in managing debtors' arrears, following up on monthly aging reports, and liaising with residents on outstanding payments. Additionally, you'll facilitate audits by preparing and submitting unaudited financial statements to external auditors appointed by client.

A seasoned financial expert

We're looking for candidates with a strong background in accounting and finance, preferably with experience in property management or a related field. You should have at least five years of experience in financial management and be familiar with Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).

Detail-oriented and analytical

This role requires strong attention to detail and analytical skills. You should be adept at preparing and analyzing financial reports, identifying trends, and providing insightful recommendations.

Tech-savvy

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is crucial. You should be comfortable learning and using JLL or Client's computerized accounting and billing systems.

A skilled communicator

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. You'll need to interact with residents, vendors, auditors, and various departments within the organization.
