Platform & Data Operations establishes the functional organization of FSDs platforms. By this we mean to establish the best choice of platforms to operate, which system best fits the operational needs to perform a specific business process. In order to do this, P&D Ops not just leads the choice of system, but also coordinates the changes in those systems with a network of vendors to ensure an orderly, quick, and effective delivery.

Job Description

This is an administrative position in the Research Office. The Research Office supports grant management, research agreement review, the Departmental Ethical Review Committee and other research administrative functions.

Duties & Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Vice Dean (Research) and the Manager of the Research Office, the Senior Executive/Assistant Manager will be part of the team to support the core duties of the Research Office:

a) Grant Administration
- Advise researchers on grant guidelines and requirements.
- Provide administration support to researchers throughout the entire grant cycle from grant application, grant awarding, budget and expenses tracking, reporting of project status and project closure.
- Be the point of contact between researchers and various administration departments to support the management of research projects.
- Manage grant calls and be the liaison person to the funding agencies.

b) Research Agreement
- Support researchers to draft, review, negotiate and execute research agreements, working closely with researchers, collaborators and internal and external legal offices.

c) Departmental Ethics Review Committee (DERC) Secretariat

- Provide ethics review from reviewing applications, communicating feedback, reviewing amendments to processing review outcomes.
- Organise DERC meetings and keep records of DERC's reviews and outcomes.

d) Research Office
- Organise research seminars and meetings.
- Report research metrics for the School and researchers.

Qualifications

• Applicants are expected to have at least a Bachelor degree from a recognized institution.
• Preferably with at least 2 years of experience in an administrative position within the academic, research or healthcare sector.
• Candidates with experience in research administration, grant management, agreement review, research ethics, research compliance or database management will be at an advantage. Fresh graduates with some research experience may be considered.
• A team player with effective problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to take initiative to learn on the job and manage various responsibilities.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing Biopharmaceuticals CDMO team and support the growth in the advanced therapies space in ASIA. This position will be responsible for working together with the Global Business Development team and regional Head of Region ASIA with a focus on plasmid DNA, mRNA, recombinant proteins, Live Biotherapeutic Products (LBP), and related manufacturing services. This position will greatly increase our prospective business development activities in the ASIAN market (focus on Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, India, Australia & New Zealand) and contribute to sales and marketing activities to meet Wacker Biotech’s revenue and growth targets.

The successful candidate will help sharpen and further refine the marketing strategy and engage the biotechnology industry to identify new leads.

Job Responsibilities

• Identify new Leads in the pDNA, mRNA, Live Biotherapeutic Products (LBP), and proteins manufacturing space, establish communication, explore their needs, build strong relationships, and successfully win the opportunity
• Participate in the relevant conferences and present WACKER Biotech’s capabilities
• Develop a strong relationship with the lead’s relevant contact person, organize visits to the lead’s facilities or to our facilities, showcasing our capabilities and identifying the leads service requirements
• Ensure the timely preparation of proposals for our CDMO services and efficient conclusion of manufacturing service agreements
• Establish continuous market monitoring, identify trends, and liaise with Operations to develop new solutions

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or similar relevant education
• At least 4 years of relevant industry sales/business development experience
• At least 2 years of experience in the field of plasmid DNA, mRNA, Live Biotherapeutic Products (LBP), and proteins manufacturing services or cell and gene therapy at a broad commercial CDMO
• Excellent verbal / written communication and technical presentation skills
• Track record of establishing relationships and creating partnerships with employees across the organization, both on a regional and international level
• Ability to air travel, attend Biotech conferences, and give presentations
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
