McConnell Dowell seeks an experienced Senior Commercial & Contracts Manager to join our team in Singapore, leading the commercial function on projects and assisting with tenders.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager SEA the primary objective is to oversee and ensure the efficient and effective management of the commercial and contractual activities in the business.

You will be responsible for:

• Working with the Project Manager/Director and/or Tender Team to develop and deliver the project commercial strategy and form an integral part of the project delivery leadership team.
• Building and leading a high-performing project commercial team.
• Developing strong client and supplier relationships to avoid disputes and manage the project’s commercial interests.
• Leading all commercial activities required for the success of the project. This will include management of the head contract and leading a team to administer all subcontracts and supplier relationships, as well as financial administration, claims management, and management reporting.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications.
• Sound understanding of construction contracts and ancillary contracts such as Joint Venture Agreements
• Demonstrated ability to analyse contractual / legal issues and provide solutions through appropriate problem solving techniques.
• Sound commercial acumen accompanied by proven negotiation and inter-relationship skills.
• Able to quickly grasp concepts and apply innovative options to the status quo.
• Clear and definitive communication – written and verbal accompanied by competent presentation ability.

• Planning and co-ordination of M&E services installation work.
• Supervise sub-contractors and site operation team and liaise closely with consultants to facilitate installation works on site.
• Supervise sub-contractors to carry out their installation works accurately and timely in accordance to contract drawings and specifications.
• Review and ensure proper submissions from sub-contractors.
• Work with QAQC Engineer to ensure quality performance of project Implementation of Testing and Commissioning plan.

Requirements:

• At least 10-15 years of relevant local working experience in M&E in building and construction projects.
• Good communication, written and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge in BIM model software.

Job Description:

• Handle the entire procurement processes and support workflows, according to the sourcing strategies set.
• Manage the full procurement process, including supplier tendering, selection, contract negotiation, and ensuring timely ordering, delivery, and payment to meet operational needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, promptly addressing any issues related to orders, deliveries, or quality.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with policies, standards, and regulations while keeping accurate, up-to-date records of contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and manage contract agreements effectively.

• With experience in Import-export related transactions affairs.
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
