RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptualise and deliver world class global events to support the growth strategy of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), working closely with key business stakeholders from Corporate Coverage, Transaction Banking, Global Banking & Markets as well as Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (CABM) teams across our footprint
- Plan, develop and execute high-impact programmes to build brand advocacy, showcase thought leadership and deepen key client engagement. These initiatives may include, but are not limited to C-suite roundtables, global summits, hospitality experiences and high-profile sporting sponsorships.
- Implement the Global Events strategy, optimise key sponsorship assets and provide end-to-end management of client and delegate engagement programmes.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, event organisers and global platforms, staying abreast of industry trends and competitor activities to inform event planning and sponsorship strategies.
- Be the custodian for client events experience, providing consistency in approach and messaging across all touchpoints to increase brand association and strengthen CIB’s proposition. Develop global playbooks for selected events, share best practices and support local market adaptation.
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing & Content team to drive amplification of events across a spectrum of digital, social and traditional media channels to intended audience profiles
- Support production of engaging content and marketing collaterals to highlight insights, client deals and emerging themes on trade, innovation and sustainability, working in partnership with the steering committee and/or relevant teams.
- Monitor and analyse proprietary flagship events and sponsorships to evaluate returns on investment, distilling insights from client surveys and brand perceptions for continuous improvement.
- Oversee usage of events management platform and tools such as Cvent and provide guidance and best practices for users for various channel modules (On-Arrival, Appointments, CrowdCompass).
- Manage and partner a set of third-party vendors, event agencies, creative and media agencies to deliver a differentiated narrative and stellar client experience. Work with Global Sourcing and Legal & Compliance and lead quarterly business reviews with vendors to ensure high level of service continues to be delivered.
- Administration of marketing budget, ensuring timely reconciliation and processing of invoices.
Governance
- Accountable for the Global Event budget and scorecards
- Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various Policies, Procedures and Guidelines of the Bank by the regional CABM team
People & Talent
- Managing the relationships and leading the engagement of event management agencies and preferred vendors. This includes the identification and onboarding of new and approved vendors.
- Stakeholder management across CIB business and stakeholders within Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing.
Risk Management
- Ensure all activities and in line with Sponsorship and Donation Policy.
- Ensure all expenses are in line with approval processes.
Governance
- Brand guardian – responsible for ensuring all events and sponsorship activities are delivered in line with corporate brand guidelines. This includes ensuring that all client touch points at events and sponsorship exceed the expectations of a highly sophisticated audience.
- Managing allocation of the team’s marketing and merchandise inventory.

- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Our Ideal Candidate
- 15 plus years of experience in events management, sponsorships activation and/or conference producing
- Proven track record of delivering successful event strategy and execution for global, large-scale events (virtual, physical and hybrid formats)
- Strong business acumen and analytical experience
- Banking / B2B financial institutional industry experience an advantage
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in a business, communication or marketing discipline.
- Able to work with senior management to develop and roll out approved strategy
- High standards of professional integrity, responsibility and perseverance
- Passionate about delivering stellar client experience.
- Highly skilled and experienced in planning and executing world class events tailored to C-suite audience and key clients
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide sound and logical strategic advice to senior executives in both global and local markets
- Familiar with the use of events management platform and tools such as Cvent, Zoom events, etc
- Solid organisational and project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Results-orientated, with keen understanding of analytics for post event reporting and ROI measurements
- Excellent eye for detail and ability to deliver flawless event execution and superior client experience within allocated budget
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High energy individual with a positive attitude, with a track record of collaborating across teams and geographies to achieve business objectives
