The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is seeking someone who is keen to join us to build a vibrant and inclusive society where individuals with disabilities can pursue their sporting aspirations.
The Events and Outreach Manager will play a critical role in developing our volunteer relations and capabilities, so that we can increase sporting opportunities for persons with disabilities, support the development of athletes with disabilities, and help develop affinity for Team Singapore para athletes through events such as the World Para Swimming Series.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Management (60%):
● Recruitment and Cultivation: Identify, recruit, nurture, and match volunteers to suitable roles within the organization, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose among volunteers.
● Database Management: Maintain accurate records and databases pertaining to volunteer profiles, availability, and contributions to facilitate effective volunteer management.
● Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with the Communications team to engage corporate, school, and community volunteers, providing them with meaningful volunteering opportunities aligned with their interests and skills.
● Recognition and Appreciation: Organize and execute formal and informal recognition initiatives, reward programs, and appreciation events to express gratitude and motivate volunteers for their invaluable support.
Outreach (30%):
● Program Design: Create engaging, enjoyable, and impactful programs meticulously crafted to cater to diverse audiences, including beginners, children, and youth.
● Resource Coordination: Match partners, volunteers, equipment, and other resources to deliver community sports programs and events tailored to the unique needs of individuals with disabilities.
● Collaboration: Forge strong partnerships with community coaches, external partners, and internal teams to ensure the success of programs and maximize positive outcomes for program beneficiaries.
● Data Management: Maintain comprehensive records of partner organizations, available resources, and program participants, leveraging this data to continuously enhance the impact of our community initiatives.
Other Responsibilities (10%):
● Reporting and Documentation: Prepare insightful presentations and reports for programs and volunteers, aiding in transparent communication and data-driven decision-making.
● Cross-Functional Support: Offer support to various internal teams as needed.
Requirements:
● Strong interpersonal skills; enjoys building positive relationships and effectively engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences
● Great at connecting with and engaging young children and youth effectively
● Strong verbal and written communication abilities, enabling clear and compelling interaction with volunteers, partners, and stakeholders
● Excellent multitasking abilities
● Prior experience in volunteering, program development, or event planning as well as interaction with persons with disabilities would be an advantage.
● Willingness and ability to commit to event and program participation during weekends and beyond regular office hours when necessary (time will be compensated)
● Self-motivated, resourceful, and strong team player with good collaborative skills
