The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), together with the Earth Observatory of Singapore, is looking for a Research Assistant to make an important contribution to the research project: “Climate Transformation Program (CTP): Cross Cutting Theme 1 – Sustainable Societies” funded by the MOE Tier 3C Grant. CTP aims to develop, inspire, and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies.

CTP will generate knowledge and innovation across disciplines including climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences and the arts, finance, health, and engineering. It will also translate state-of-the-art scientific results into real world solutions for Singapore, and it will transfer these solutions to Southeast Asia (SEA) and beyond.

As part of this programme, “Cross-cutting theme 1: Sustainable Societies”, this theme will leverage climate research in communication and virtual reality tools to shape public attitudes and behaviours towards climate change issues. RSIS seeks to recruit a mid-career scholar at the Assistant Professor / Associate Professor level. Applicants should be able to conduct interdisciplinary research pertaining to international political economy with a focus on Asia-Pacific. A relevant PhD and a good publication record commensurate with the level of appointment are essential requirements. Experience in policy-relevant research and publication would be useful.

The successful candidate will join the school’s Centre for Multilateralism Studies and International Political Economy Programme. He/she is expected to contribute to and play an active leadership role in the School's and Centre’s teaching, research, and think-tank work streams, which may involve:

• Teaching up to three (3) courses and supervising graduate students in the School's Master of Science and PhD programmes

The successful applicant will join an expanding team to work on projects in the field of Psychosocial support for familial caregivers. The applicant will be working in the research lab “Action Research for Community Health (ARCH)”, and the primary study involves an intervention study that develops and test the efficacy of a novel culinary programme to support familial caregivers of individuals with cancer. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with professionals in the field of medicine, cancer care, nutrition, as well as with clinical population groups.

Research Assistant/Project Officer is expected to plan, organize and implement research projects, in collaboration with principal investigators.
