Role:

As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will report to the APAC Regional Chief Risk Officer. You will collaborate to the fulfillment of the objectives of the department and may be involved in projects spanning multiple groups across commercial functions and staff.

Note: This is a 9 months - 1 year contract role.

The main responsibilities are to:

- Assess creditworthiness of counterparties in close collaboration with Front Office and other support functions

- Perform detailed credit analysis of counterparties and assigning internal ratings

- Present files and credit line requests to regular Credit Risk Committees

- Participate in counterparty relationship development with Front Office

- Negotiate credit, collateral, and payment terms in contracts in conjunction with Legal and Front Office, including ISDAs and physical master agreements

- Monitor credit risk indicators, exposures, limits, and utilization for a portfolio of counterparties.

- Respond to Front Office queries about potential trade exposures and credit limits availability

- Monitor news and credit events impacting portfolio of counterparties

- Understand risk calculation methodology, interface with Risk Methodology team in Europe

- Analyze major transactions and present material to GEMS and Group level committees

- Develop credit risk frameworks and methodologies for new products and markets

- Participate in cross-functional projects

Hard skills:

- Regular production of detailed credit files and assigning internal ratings

- Deep understanding of energy commodities markets, products, and counterparties

- Usage of credit analysis tools (S&P Capital IQ, Moodys, Reuters or Bloomberg)

- Solid understanding of credit exposure and risk modeling methodology (Credit VaR/PFE) and counterparty credit risk standards

Soft skills:

- Strong analytical skills (including performing financial analysis)

- Strong communication skills

- Excellent team player

- Meticulous, self-motivated, and highly organized with strong sense of ownership and responsibility.

- Maintain resilience under time and task pressures

- Digitalization/IT minded

Education and professional background:

- 7-10 years of credit risk experience in a commodities trading house or financial institution, with coverage of both physical and paper instruments

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance (Corporate Finance, Accounting, Economics) or equivalent

Preferred

- Experience with the ISDA and physical master agreements is a plus

- Derivatives knowledge and background, e.g. Greeks and pricing

Languages:

- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written

- Additional languages Chinese or Japanese, not mandatory but will be advantageous

• Provide support to set up IT workstream for Wholesale Banking, Private Wealth Banking products and services such as Loan, Deposits, Treasury, Securities Custody and Execution

• Provide support to create technology roadmap to meet program objectives, work closely with Head Office, regional business sponsors and IT stakeholders

• Support program feasibility study, pros & cons of solutioning options to meet the program timelines and seek consensus from stakeholders.

• Liaise on defining of business & system requirement plan such as scope definition, schedule, resource allocation, budgeting, implementation plan and quality assurance processes

• Review the application architecture and infrastructure designs

• Work with wider stakeholders to explore technical solutions to achieve business objectives and requirements.

• Provide support to drive the implementation of regional technology programs to meet strategic or tactical objectives, always looking for standardization opportunities. Develop understanding of various banking systems such as at Japan Head Office, regional and country local systems to provide solutions for specific project and lead such initiatives.

• Provide support to drive the implementation of regional technology programs to meet strategic or tactical objectives and focusing on standardization opportunities.

• Support the establishing and implementing of project management practices, templates, policies, tools to expand and mature the Program and Project Management capabilities of the IT APAC organization.

• Participate in key regional meetings and provide updates and align for programs and projects.

• Support program risk assessment to mitigate potential issues and track status and progress.
