The Role

The Sustainable and Green Finance Institute (SGFIN) is a new university-level research institute in the National University of Singapore (NUS), jointly supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and NUS. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Stay abreast of LNG and energy industry trends

• Develop and maintain close relationships with industry players to help stay well-informed on market movements and contracting strategies.

• Provide constructive feedback on proposed regulatory changes and consultation papers issued by EMC and/or EMA to support growth in the gas and power market.
• Lead discussions with cross-functional as well as cross-organisational teams to identify and unlock synergies and optimisation opportunities for the 2nd terminal project.

GEG Commercial Operations

• Co-ordinating with Operations team on planned generation outages to minimize impact to SLNG’s overall profitability.
• Prepare GEG’s efficiency reports for EMA and self-reports for Market Surveillance and Compliance Panel.

• Business Development: Working very closely with VP Finance and SVP Region in Confidential Business development projects.
• EM FLT Projects: As a member for EM FLT taking ownership and delivering on projects which is the priority objective for the year for the VP Finance and EM FLT.
• Ad HOCs on business requirements: The role has extensive level of AD hoc deliverables which are as per the current business needs of the Region. This is one of the most important aspects of the role and requires pace and flexibility to deliver on this objective.
• Talent Development: Although the role does not have direct reports but working with Hub team members across P&F and C&C and with other FBPs of the markets to upscale their knowledge and skills and for their grooming.
• ROI and Expense management: Set ROI standards for Forecasting and regular monitoring to ensure adequate allocation of scarce resources to drive double digit growth for EM.

Basic Qualifications:

• Degree in Economics, Business or Finance
• Min 10 years of experience in demonstrating advance financial knowledge of accounting, model analysis evaluation, forecasting and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop end-to-end processes of market risk and ALM system.
• Extract and analyse financial data from various sources (e.g., core banking, accounting, risk management).
• Develop and maintain databases, data visualizations, and reports using tools like SQL and Power BI.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
• Develop and execute testing plans to ensure reporting outputs are complete and accurate.
• Develop and maintain documentation of data processes and procedures.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for special projects and on-going requests.
• Provide training and support for end-users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Banking, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in market risk management, risk reporting, data analysis, and business analysis in the banking sector.
• Strong understanding of market risk and ALM concepts (FRTB, VaR, stress testing, sensitivity, MCO, LCR, NSFR, IRRBB, etc.) and financial products (derivatives, bonds, equities, etc.).
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Certification in risk management (e.g., FRM) or financial analysis (e.g., CFA).
• Experience with banking systems and software (e.g., Temenos).
