Job Purpose

The Finance Data Specialist plays a critical role in the execution of our APLL Finance transformation mandate by actively supporting data-driven business intelligence initiatives. This role will act as a bridge between Finance, business units and IT. It requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams in understanding business requirements and designing and developing the data architecture for BI solutions and visualization. Key deliverables include proactively providing timely, reliable and easy-to-use financial information and valuable and actionable insights to help drive high-impact business changes and strengthen financial performance analytics.

Roles & Responsibilities

Data Governance, Strategy and Collections

• Support the development and execution of Finance data, governance and analytics strategy and roadmap.
• Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to understand business logic and their analytics needs, identify data metrics and document the requirements.
• Translate business needs into specifications and data requirements. integrate business and financial data to establish a solid foundation for financial analysis or reporting solutions.
• Work closely with business partners and IT to design, define and develop end-to-end data pipelines for BI solutions: build instrumentation and define dimensional models, tables or schemas that support business processes.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of databases and data pipelines. This ensures data quality and accessibility for analysis.
• Gather data from various sources (databases, APIs, web scraping, etc.), clean it, and transform it into a usable format. This often involves dealing with datasets that have challenges including missing values, lump sum amounts, inconsistencies, and different data types.
• Design, write and support extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes of finance and business operations data from various sources, deliver insightful data findings for business success

Data Analytics and Business Intelligence

• Conduct “deep dive” reviews of financial data to uncover trends and patterns. Deploy different types of advance data analytics to identify anomalies, outliers and leakages in transactions to mitigate risks and optimize profit.
• Align with stakeholders on key metrics, design and propose experimentation strategies to continually raise the bar on our analytical capabilities
• Ensure data accuracy by mining, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets for effective use-case development of BI and dashboard visualization solutions.
• Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.
• Develop, optimize financial reporting and enhance data automation to enable reliable self-service reports and streamline financial closing process.
• Use BI tools to create compelling data visualization and dashboards to generate timely, meaningful and actionable insights in driving critical business decision making.
• Predictive Modelling: Building models to forecast future outcomes based on historical data. This can involve machine learning techniques like regression, classification, and clustering.
• Support projects or gathering of additional data for ad-hoc analysis as needed

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence
• Proven experience in financial data analytics, reporting automation, and Power BI tools.

Requirements

• At least 3 – 5 years of financial/business/data analysis experience.
• Experience in audit or logistics industry is a plus.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Finance Manager, FSS-AR & AP, you will manage a team of Senior Accounts Officers to provide support on all AR and AP matters for the assigned portfolio. You will also have an opportunity to participate in projects relating to process automation or process improvements.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

• Support the AR function and activities including invoicing receipting and refunds ensuring alignment with the Group’s internal policies and procedures
• Reconcile AR ledger to ensure all receipts are accounted for and properly posted
• Perform month-end close in accordance with Singapore International Financial Reporting Standards (International) (“SFRS(I)”), including reconciliation and audit schedules
• Review monthly journals, reconciliation reports and intercompany balances
• Perform review of quarterly GST reporting, submission and respond to related clarifications
• Collate, review and respond to internal/ external audit queries

Accounts Payable
Handle end-to-end transactional processes pertaining to Accounts Payable:

• Monthly AP financial closing and management reporting, including performing variance analysis, review of vendor invoices and intercompany settlement, journal vouchers, schedules, batch payments, staff claims and bank recon to ensure adherence to the Group’s policies and guidelines
• Review monthly supplier reconciliations performed by the AP team and investigate discrepancies
• Partner with Procurement Office and Business Units to ensure vendor invoices are matched to goods receipt/services performed and payments are made within credit terms
• Perform review of quarterly GST reporting, submission and GST related clarifications
• Collate, review and respond to internal/ external audit queries

Qualifications & Work Experience

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent, with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.

Skills

Technical skills include:

• Strong working knowledge of SFRS(I)
• Prior experience in working with the SAP ERP system would be advantageous
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)

Generic skills include:

• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
• Meticulous and pays attention to details
• Resourceful with a keen analytical mind

Main Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Financial Controller and working in a team, you will be responsible for the group consolidation and financial reporting, preparing financial statements and annual report for the Group.
• Assist in compiling full set of accounts at a group or subsidiary level and monthly management report

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Finance, Accounting or equivalent professional qualifications
• CPA/ACCA or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience, with experience acquired in Big 4 and/or listed company is an advantage.
• Familiar with group accounting policies, tax requirement and internal control procedures. Experience in US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance is an advantage.
• Experienced in SAP S/4HANA preferred
• Self-motivated and high degree of initiative, high level of integrity with a strong sense of urgency

Job scope:

• Perform collections activities and entry of follow-up and payment details from customers
• Contact customers on irregular payments to reconcile what they paid against what has been charged.
• Handle customers queries on payment related matters.
• Perform administrative tasks related to credit and collection

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Korean as will be required to liaise with Korean speaking client.
