This role is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the global crude oil market, developing and executing trading strategies for crude oil derivatives and paper trading, meeting the company's crude oil hedging requirements, and providing data-driven support to aid the management team's decision-making.
Job Duties
1. Market Analysis:
1) Monitor and analyze global crude oil market trends, gathering and tracking fundamental supply and demand data.
2) Provide insights and recommendations to support the development of trading strategies.
2. Report Preparation:
1) Regularly prepare and submit reports on market conditions and trading strategies to senior management.
2) Draft ad-hoc research reports focusing on critical developments in the crude oil market.
3) Prepare and present periodic reports on trading performance and risk exposure to senior management.
3. Crude Oil Paper and Derivatives Trading Execution & Analysis:
1) Execute pre-approved trading strategies while adhering to risk management protocols.
2) Monitor the market to identify and seize significant trading opportunities, managing trading positions effectively.
4. Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including Finance, Legal, and Risk Management, to ensure seamless execution of trades in alignment with company objectives.
5.External Engagement:
1) Establish and maintain relationships with market data providers and key industry peers.
2) Facilitate information exchange and participate in regular market discussions to better understand market dynamics and identify trading opportunities.
6. Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
1) Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Prefer CFA Level II or higher.
2) Prior experience in reputable futures firms, energy companies, hedge funds, or other financial institutions as an analyst is highly desirable.
3) Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
4) Strong ability to deliver accurate market forecasts, with a proven track record demonstrated through past trading strategies, research reports, or performance records.
5) In-depth understanding of the crude oil market, including its operational mechanisms, financial derivatives, and current opportunities.
6) Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and collaborative team environment.
7) Proficiency in both written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin, enabling effective collaboration with native Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and comprehension of Chinese-language documents.
