Reporting to the AVP Finance & Accounting, Asia Pacific, the Associate Director, Finance’s role is one of a strategic business partner to key stakeholders in the organization by providing leadership, supervision and development opportunities to his/her team members. The focus is to lead a team in controllership function across the full spectrum of business lines, in particular, leading and managing the month-end close process, balance sheet management process, cash management, inter-company transactions, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivables, payroll and projects under a strong internal control environment. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing all statutory/compliance reporting under his/her responsibility area.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Finance and Accounting

• Manage the month-end close process and ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared timely and accurately.
• Manage and consolidate cashflow requirements for area of responsibility and coordinate funding requirements with Corporate Treasury and other Controllership teams.
• Ensure inter-company transactions are managed in line with business activities and appropriately supported by relevant inter-company agreements.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensure accounting transactions are within MVW’s internal controls and compliance framework.
• Effectively manage all internal audits, statutory audits, tax filings and other compliance matters for assigned entities.

• Key position in region to drive Treasury-related projects for the region e.g. zero-balance account, cash pooling, cash maximization, etc.
• Responsible for payroll function in the region including corporate and payroll tax queries and reporting.
• Responsible for W&B forecast/budget/LRP.
• Support AVPF&A in leading and driving any finance-related projects implementation in Asia Pacific region including working with external service providers through implementation
• Constantly seek process improvements and drive through changes.
• Provide appropriate support and backup to other Controllership teams as the business requires.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support Development and Architecture & Construction (A&C) teams for developmental projects, including ensuring timely settlement of progress billings and project payments.
• Support new product launch and accounting/tax set-up for AP New Product Forms
• Understand and be proficient in new business structures (e.g. AP New Product Form, Thailand transactions, IAPs, etc.) necessary to carry out the team’s accountabilities effectively.

Job Duties:

GB APAC CCCO reports hierarchically to the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) for Global Banking APAC. GB APAC CCCO’s core responsibilities is to have the full view on the Conduct and Control framework for GB scope applicable to APAC and to oversee its implementation and adherence to across APAC territories and GB APAC legal entities. Direct Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the CCCO for Global Banking APAC include, but are not limited to the following and shall be implemented in alignment with Global Banking worldwide where relevant:

Guarantee a robust, coherent organization & governance across Global Banking APAC for all non-financial risks (duly involving LOD2&3 and Functions):

• Facilitate Global Banking APAC responses on non-financial risks matters (operational, conduct and regulatory) raised by local regulators

Ensure a proper oversight of regulatory, conduct, and control matters impacting Global Banking APAC, including all remediation programs across in scope regions and métiers, with the aim of ensuring compliance within each territories of regulations and regulatory expectations; compliance with the bank’s Code of Conduct; compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures; and protection of the Group’s reputation; in alignment and integration with Global Banking worldwide and coordination with APAC CCCO stakeholders:

• Establish or ensure the implementation of standards for defining the risk cartography, and implementing, evaluating, tracking, reporting, and testing of controls
• Monitor Global Banking APAC roadmaps and priorities on operational risk management,
• Review periodically existing control framework and propose enhancements, including mechanisms for feedback loops

• Contribute to transformation and development projects for CCCO scope, by gathering information, analyzing, formulating options and building a business case. Assist in the implementation in liaison with internal or external parties.
• Propose proactively and support GB APAC Head and GB APAC COO office in any regulatory and transformation projects related to CCCO scope, defining priority areas (team, geography, Global Business Line, capabilities, client segments) for investment.

May act as BNP Paribas Securities (Asia) Limited’s “Manager-In-Charge of Global Banking APAC – Operational Control & Review function” as defined by the relevant SFC guidelines, notably

Principal Responsibilities

This is an analytical and review role in the Product control team. The role has standard daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables as well as a significant amount of adhoc queries.

• Responsible for review of P&L's produced in Manila which includes source data to ledger reconciliation, P&L attribution, and commentaries
• Ensuring that all breaks/ issues are identified and resolved
• Producing and reviewing month-end close processes for the business unit
• Close books during month ends including clearing breaks, post journals, provide commentary on material PL/ BS moves
• Perform Balance Sheet / Account ownership substantiation
• Responsible for month end valuations which includes performing IPV, Reserves computation and quarterly task including Levelling
• Review new deals and engage with deal teams, Accounting Policy and Regulatory Policy to ensure the appropriate accounting and regulatory treatment is determined and assess the impact to the firm's disclosures
• Handling various audit requirements of local regulatory audit, internal audit, external audit & other compliance reviews along with working towards the closure of audit findings
• Ensure the maintenance of a strong internal control environment
• Building and maintenance networks with the Business Unit and other divisions

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of finance processes and an accountancy or finance post graduate degree
• Relevant experience (min. 5 years) in a finance environment
• Good knowledge of financial products - Fixed Income and FX products would be preferable
• Have a high regard for attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to partner and work effectively both with direct team members and with colleagues across the wider organisation
