JOB SUMMARY
- The Senior Manager, Corporate Coverage is responsible for reporting, analytics & business performance of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Corporate client franchise.
- Execution of this role will require a deep understanding of SCB Financial Reporting & Business Intelligence systems coupled with a strong understanding of P&L and Balance sheet drivers of a banking business. The role also requires familiarity with how clients procure & utilise banking products throughout their life cycle.
- This role will also have support & delivery responsibilities for Management Information (MI) and actionable insight regarding, and not limited to, Cross Sell, Sub-Optimal RWA, Leverage, Client on/offboarding, wallet share capture & analysis, and client advisory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Act as a senior business advisor to deliver business insights and high impact, executive ready analysis to drive performance and enable management decisions
- Thorough understanding of the underlying drivers of Corporate clients to regularly present opportunities and levers to drive revenue and returns performance.
- Active awareness and thought leadership on market trends/industry developments to deliver robust competitor benchmarking & peer analysis and understand performance against peers
- Influence business strategies regarding client behaviour & profitability to optimize our market position
- Spearhead deep dives and strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvements of the bank’s returns
Business
- Lead the annual corporate plan and target setting process for the Corporate Coverage, liaising with CIB & Group FP&A, Treasury, Regional and Country business heads to ensure a robust business plan with sufficient challenge and rigor.
- Link the business plan to the overall business strategy and scorecard metrics and ensure full visibility and transparency on performance across all metrics.
- Partner with senior leaders to drive and deliver on performance management reporting and analytics through high-quality executive ready decks
Processes
- Support the CFO Corporate Coverage in setting broader team priorities and initiatives, adopting an ‘agile’ approach to book of work management and prioritization, tracking team commitments and deliverables towards the collective goals.
- Build Awareness and understanding of bank’s data architecture and collaborate with relevant Digital MI teams to solve for analytics requirements.
- Drive process improvement, efficiency and resolving core business issues in the team
- Ensure highest quality of the reports produced by the team, whilst being on top of relevant processes and timelines end to end.
- Review various financial processes done by other Finance teams, to ensure that the quality is not compromised.
- Be on top of all financial activities end to end - Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting, Management reporting, Financial Analysis, Variance Analysis, Headcount reporting, Efficiency tracking, Accounting & Closing and other FP&A activities.
People & Talent
- Engagement with senior stakeholders like Coverage CFO, Cluster Heads & Coverage Chief of Staff
- Role model behaviours within the CIB Finance team, lead through influence
Risk Management
- Ensure effective reporting controls in place to prevent errors to due misstatement or omission of material financial information
Governance
- Participate in shaping the CIB & Segment governance, reporting and delivery
- Ensure broader finance teams align to these frameworks

Our Ideal Candidate
- Chartered Accountant or MBA with 10 years of relevant finance experience in FP&A
- Effective communication skills, including presenting and influencing senior management
- Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
