Unlocking ADHD is a non-profit organization in Singapore dedicated to raising awareness and providing support for individuals with ADHD. Through community programs, coaching, and accessible interventions, we empower individuals with ADHD to thrive. Role Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the financial health of Unlocking ADHD, ensuring effective budgeting, compliance with non-profit regulations, and efficient use of financial resources to support our mission. This role includes overseeing all financial transactions, including donations, receipts, and grants, ensuring compliance with Singapore’s financial regulations, including those related to Institutions of a Public Character (IPC). The Finance Manager will also collaborate closely with the Treasurer from the Board of Directors to ensure sound financial governance and strategic financial planning. Additionally, the Finance Manager will oversee the full grant management process, ensuring proper allocation and reporting of grant funds to support the organization’s programs and services.

Key Responsibilities

A. Financial Management & Planning:

• Develop, manage, and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with department heads to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity to support ongoing operations and program expansion.
  • Provide financial insights to management to support decision-making and long-term strategic planning.

B. Financial Reporting & Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with Singapore’s financial regulations for non-profits, including compliance with the Charities Act and IPC requirements.
• Prepare and submit reports for regulatory bodies (IRAS, ACRA, COC and sector administrator)) and ensure that all tax deductible filings, including GST where applicable, are completed accurately and on time. Lead the preparation of financial reports for external audits and liaise with auditors to complete annual financial audits.
• Maintain a system for proper recording and tracking of donations, including tax-deductible donations, and issue receipts to donors in compliance with IPC guidelines.

C. Donations, Grants, & Fund Management:

• Oversee the management of donations and receipts, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of donor contributions in compliance with tax-deductible donation requirements.
• Manage and track the organization’s grant funding, ensuring the correct allocation of restricted and unrestricted funds for specific programs.
• Lead the grant management process, from application to reporting, including preparing financial components of grant applications and ensuring timely submission of financial reports to funders.
• Monitor grant compliance to ensure funds are used according to donor restrictions and organization objectives.

D. Accounting & Bookkeeping:

• Oversee daily financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the organization’s accounting software.
• Maintain financial records in accordance with Singapore accounting standards for non-profits.

E. Governance & Risk Management:

• Maintain and improve internal financial controls and policies to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure compliance with best practices in financial management.
• Advise the management team on financial risks and opportunities and assist in implementing financial strategies to ensure long-term sustainability.
• Ensure proper financial governance and risk management as the organization expands its services.

F. Tax & Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with Singapore’s tax regulations, including managing tax deductible filings and GST submissions where applicable.
• Oversee the organization’s compliance with the Charities Act and IPC requirements, ensuring that all financial operations are aligned with Singapore’s regulatory framework for non-profits.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
• Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with experience in the IPC charity highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Singapore’s charity financial regulations, including the requirements for IPC status.
  • Experience in grant management, including the application process, fund tracking, and reporting.

Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Analyst will play a key role in the Finance team to deliver the full spectrum of professional finance, tax and compliance activities to Woh Hup (WH) Group of companies. Finance professional qualification and SAP knowledge preferred.

General Ledger and Reporting.

· Responsibility for the General Ledger (GL), ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records. Prepare and submit internal and external financial reports to the corporate office.

· Ensure timely monthly closing and submission to corporate office and internal stakeholders.

· Ensure that the balance sheet is a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the hotel, regularly reviewed, and reconciliations of all accounts performed before final closing monthly basis.

Compliance and Control, internal and external audit.

· Ensure compliance with the management agreement with AHG Group / Shun Tak Holdings Ltd (where applicable)

· Maintain control over hotel assets, liabilities, income, and expenditure on behalf of both the group, providing management, leadership, and accountability for the financial performance of the hotel.

· Liaise and co-operate with both internal and external audit ensuring that an effective programme of in-hotel audit is in place and that corrective action is promptly taken where required.

· Emphasis to ensure all revenue are accounted for, making use of a monthly control checklist, and Best

Best Practices and Procedures.

· Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures, updating of SOP and P&Ps.

I. Mission of the Asia Sustainable Finance Team:

WWF has identified the finance sector as a key driver of global economic activity with which we must engage to successfully deliver on our long-term conservation mission. To do this, we work with key finance sector players including banks, investors, regulators, and stock exchanges, across six focus areas:

1. Regulations and Guidelines: We provide recommendations and facilitate dialogue between regulatory authorities and financial institutions (FIs) to issue harmonized regulations and guidelines that raise the bar for sustainable finance at the national and regional level.

2. Standards: We help FIs understand what makes certain standards and certification schemes credible to help them ensure that their due diligence and verification processes assure robust sustainability practices.

3. Capacity Building: We empower FIs through capacity building on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues through industry-wide workshops and bilateral training sessions. Our training covers a range of sectors and thematic focus areas and helps FIs to better assess and price risk, value companies, and develop new products.

4. Research & Tools: We conduct research, develop best practice guides, and benchmark FIs’ progress on ESG integration to ensure timely progress towards a resilient and sustainable financial system. We also help FIs to understand and implement cutting-edge tools so they can better understand, measure, and manage evolving ESG risks and opportunities.

5. Engagement: We help investors exert their influence and facilitate large scale, meaningful change by providing research and analysis that supports their engagement with portfolio companies over key ESG issues.

6. Green Financial Solutions: We work with FIs to support the development of innovative green financial and channel financing to nature based solutions based on science-based criteria that create measurable environmental and social impacts alongside competitive financial returns.

In Asia, we work across seven (6) ASEAN countries - Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam – as well as in Japan and South Korea. We focus on sustainability issues related to soft commodities finance (e.g. agriculture, forestry, and seafood), the energy and infrastructure sectors, and crosscutting issues such as climate and nature.

III. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The VP will contribute to the general work of the team work under the direction of senior team members across the following areas, part of the responsible investment team:

Accelerate financing for nature-based projects across Asia

• Develop strategy for financing nature-based projects in Asia in collaboration with WWF country offices and finance practice

• Work with projects in Asia to structure project plans to meet requirements of donors / financiers

• Develop relationships with funds and philanthropic organisations in Singapore that invest in nature-based projects to widen potential funding sources for projects

• Conduct research on emerging green and blue financial solutions to support the development and structuring of innovative financial solutions to mobilize additional capital to protect and restore nature and communities

Stakeholder engagement and relationship management

• Manage relationships with key finance sector stakeholders, including investors (asset owners, asset managers), regulators, government ministries, etc.

• Manage relationships with conservation project leads across WWF Asian countries to develop a pipeline of bankable projects

• Work closely with other WWF national offices in the region to co-execute country-specific finance sector engagement strategies, taking into account the varying interests and priorities of different finance sector stakeholders, including investors (asset owners, asset managers), stock exchanges, regulators, government ministries, etc.

ESG research and tools

• Conduct research on topics including ESG trends, analysis of financial institutions’ performance on ESG integration/risk management and corporate sustainability disclosure and performance

• Contribute to the development of reports and tools to support capacity building, policy development and investor collective engagement

Communications

• Represent WWF perspectives, present WWF research and tools, and demonstrate thought leadership on sustainable finance at regional/domestic conferences and other events

• Manage the communication of research findings and WWF positions to finance sector stakeholders through multiple channels, e.g. press releases for mainstream/trade media, op-eds/blogs, interviews, social media, etc.

• Manage communications with other WWF national offices and other relevant internal stakeholders to identify and address potential conflicts in objectives and interests

Training and capacity building

• Develop and leverage technical expertise to support the organization and content development for capacity building workshops, webinars and other events targeted at finance sector stakeholders (asset managers and private banks in particular) on sustainable finance and ESG issues/trends, including climate and nature themes

• Work with WWF conservation, commodity, climate and water experts to distil insights and knowledge into guidance and recommendations for the finance sector

• Build capacity of wider WWF network on sustainable finance and ensure understanding of its contribution to their respective interests and priorities

Fundraising, budgeting, and reporting

• Contribute to writing funding proposals to secure long-term funding for both the Singapore sustainable finance team and regional offices

• Assist in monitoring, evaluating, budgeting and reporting of project performance against planned objectives and deliverables and milestones

Required Skills and Competencies

• 5+ years of experience in sustainable finance or related field, preferably with experience in financing of nature based solutions

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support the School Leaders and Finance Director in implementing workplans aligned with school strategic objectives.
• Assist the School Leaders and Finance Director in developing and maintaining positive relationships with the stakeholders, including parents, vendors, lessees, and the public, while fostering a positive work environment within the school.

1. ACCOUNTING (SECONDARY)

a) Assist the Finance Director to manage monthly financial accounting aspects and reporting functions for Secondary School.

b) Manage annual budget, budget amendment exercises and budget requirements and work with the Finance Director (FD) to ensure budget sustainability and alignment to school’s objectives.

c) Work with Finance Director to plan and approve the budget and forecasts

d) Assist the Finance Director to prepare presentation of budget, forecasts and strategic plans to the Board of Management, Finance and Investment Sub-Committee.

e) Manage the collection of enrichment programme, CCA, ROCs, semestral fees etc fees from students (out of pocket expenses).

f) Manage the accounting of the Endowment Fund Accounts and Building Fund Accounts.

g) Work with the FD to ensure regular filing and submission of information to MOE and respective government agency.

h) Manage quarterly GST submission to IRAS.

i) Reviewer for the Financial Assistance Scheme for Students.

j) Manage the accounting aspects of the Fundraising events of the school. Manage the issuance of tax-exemption receipts.

k) Manage monthly account reconciliations/analysis

l) Assist the Finance Director in the quarterly account closing and reporting

m) Assist the Finance Director in drafting or updating the accounting processes (SOP) and accounting policies.

n) Any ad hoc duties as and participate in school level activities when is required

2. AUDIT AND INTERNAL CONTROLS

a) Manage the MOE appointed audit or Auditor General Office (AGO) for internal audit. Work with FD to ensure no lapses in the controls and processes.

b) Manage the statutory financial audit and work with the FD to enable the submission of audited financial statements to the relevant authorities for the full school.

c) Ensure strong operational internal controls are in place in the school’s financial systems

3. PROCUREMENT (FULL SCHOOL)

Requestor for the procurement of the following contracts:

a) Statutory external auditors

b) Stationery and refreshment for finance use

4. BOARD SECRETARIAT DUTIES (FULL SCHOOL)

a) Serve as the Minute taker for both MGS Finance and Investment Sub- Committee meetings, including plan and arrange meeting dates, preparing meeting agenda, taking minutes, and supporting FD and school leaders in conducting meetings.

b) Work with the FD to provide assistance for logistic support for Finance and Investment Sub-Committee meetings. Such as courier of documents and administration and logistics preparation for meeting.

5. STAFF MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

a) Work with Finance Director to provide guidance and support to staff under your charge using the MGS Staff Appraisal Framework

b) Supervise, develop, review and evaluate the annual performance and staff development of your staff

6. Requirements

• CPA qualification or equivalent
• At least 5-8 years in commercial firms or auditing
• Experience in school environment will be an added advantage
• Strong working knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards as well as internal controls
• Experience with ERP tools and SAP
• Strong analytical and IT skills ie. Excel, Powerpoint, Words
