Responsible for Trade Finance marketing and customer engagement, structuring Trade solutions, and meeting Trade KPIs for SMBC Singapore and GTFD.

Job Responsibilities

• To carry out marketing activities for trade finance products (LC/ guarantee issuance, LC confirmation / discounting, ARP, SCF, milestone basis mid-term trade solutions, structured trade, and ECA finance). Incumbent is expected to develop relationship with customers (non Japanese corporate clients, SG local companies and Global subsidiries in SG) and industry players to further the development of GTFD business.
• Responsible for marketing from origination, structuring, negotiation, documentation to deal execution for corporate clients. Managing workflow with team members from GTFD, other departments including but not limited to Coverage, Legal, Credit, Operations for successful deal management
• To demonstrate SMBC’s best practice by following internal rule & procedure, relevant regulations and compliance matters (understanding on mission statement & 5 values, related HQ policies, procedure manual, pre-consultation process, etc)
• Promoting the trade finance business collaboration between Japanese and Non-Japanese coverage team through the target customer’s account planning.
• Report progress on pipeline deals and updates on marketing activities, support Head of Working Capital in business and reporting activities.. Act as back-up for Manager for assigned areas during compliance leave or other periods as agreed with GTFD management.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Review fund requisitions and final statement of accounts of projects
• Tracking of outstanding fund requisitions and final statement of accounts
• Review payment, billing and receipts journals
• Check payment runs and monitor for >95% prompt payments to vendors
• Assist in Management Reporting for annual budget cycles, budget utilisation and variance analysis
• Provide support to Councils / I&E Division and key stakeholders

The Opportunity

We own, evolve and support the technology platforms that handle the post-execution processing for the Securities Execution, Prime Clearing, and Prime Brokerage businesses. This includes exchange and broker trade processing, internal firm/firm trades and client delivery across physical and synthetic products. About the team

Our team consists of 19 people in Singapore and around 100 globally. Almost all of our projects are cross-location and cross-function, meaning we work directly with Front Office, Operations, Legal, Tax, and our Engineering colleagues from those areas, across the wider firm.

We work directly with Operations and Securities sales/trading, to design and implement, a wide range of functions including trade aggregators, trade matchers, payment systems, intercompany trade booking and settlement systems, and connectivity to exchanges, counterparties and vendors. Our Exception Workflow and Business Intelligence tooling allows our Operations teams to respond to client enquiries and monitor service levels.
