Job description

The successful applicant will:

• Implement a comprehensive Compliance Management System to manage compliance risks for the Company. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an ASEAN Equity Research Analyst.

Principal Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Equity Research Analyst will work closely with senior analysts in ASEAN region, assist in analysing and covering ASEAN-listed companies and sectors. This role involves creating and maintaining detailed financial models, writing research reports, supporting the efforts of senior analysts and contributing to investment recommendations for our clients.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial models and valuation for ASEAN companies. Maintain and update financial database
• Conduct thorough industry and company research including analyzing financial statements, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors to support investment thesis
• Draft research reports, providing insights on financial performance, industry trends and investment ideas
• Track and interpret market news, economic developments and company-specific events, and provide actionable investment ideas
• Assist in preparing materials and presentations for client meetings, liaise company - client meetings and fulfil client requests
• Participate in earnings calls, investor conferences and company meetings, develop corporate and industry contacts

Qualifications

• Handling of Vietnamese speaking clients and documents in Vietnamese. Vietnamese language capability required
• Strong analytical, quantitative, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques and financial modelling
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in English, proficiency in additional ASEAN language is a plus
• Team player, diligent, organised and inquisitive

The individual will join FX and Rates trading team in SMBC Global Markets & Treasury Asia Pacific division (GMTAP) and be responsible for market making and risk management in FX (NDF) products.

• Provide support to the Senior Executives/Assistant Managers in the Motor Claims team

Requirements:

• At least 2+ years of experience in Motor Claims
• Basic insurance qualification such as CGI/PGI is an added advantage
• Salary and job title offered to the final candidate will commensurate with his/her actual experience
• Analytical and ability to make decisions even when under pressure
• Willing to put in extra hours where necessary
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
• Good communication and organisation skills
