Position Purpose

Junior Business Analyst (Workflow) - Banking

1-year renewable contract

We are seeking a junior Business Analyst (2-3 years of relevant exp) with expertise in process engineering and workflows to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our banking processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Analysis:
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing banking processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Map current workflows related to banking operations, customer service, compliance, and risk management.
• Identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and inefficiencies in processes.
• Workflow Design:
• Design and document new workflows to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Utilize process modeling tools to create visual representations of banking workflows.
• Requirements Gathering:
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including front-line staff, managers, and IT teams, to gather detailed requirements for process improvements.
• Translate banking business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
• Change Management:
• Develop and implement plans for process changes, ensuring minimal disruption to banking operations.
• Train staff and stakeholders on new workflows and processes to ensure smooth transitions.
• Compliance and Risk Management:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on process engineering and workflows in the banking sector.
• Proficiency in process modeling tools such as BPMN, Visio, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with change management principles and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Process and perform Regulatory submission related functions and data governance
• MAS Notice 610 and MAS 758 Minimum Cash Balance submissions
• Qualifying Liabilities / Liabilities Base Return
• Fortnightly Asset Maintenance reporting
• MAS Notice DIA-N01 Deposit Insurance Returns
• Monthly RMB FX turnover by product types
• Prepare and submit various reports required from Head Office in China, including regulatory reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and above, preferably in Accounting
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, working experience in financial institutions will be advantageous
• Strong communications skills to manage internal and external stakeholders
• Adept in handling financial data and providing well founded analysis

• Reach out to Partners such as Independent Financial Advisors and External Asset Management Firms To cross sell company's suite of products (Equities, Unit Trust, Bond, Structured Products)
• Analyse and execute equities order
• Work on existing and new client contacts
• Assist the partners to on-board their clients with the company and meet their investment needs
• Work on projects as assigned

Requirements:

• Pass at least 2 of the 4 required papers M1A, M5, M6A and M8A papers (Banking finance majors are exempted for M1A and M5)
