NIE invites applicants for the position of Assistant Head (Research) in the Finance Department. This is a 3-year contract position.

Assistant Head (Research) - Finance Department (3-Year Contract) [NIE]

Responsibilities

Reporting to Head/Finance, you will be responsible for the following functions:

• Administration of Research grant and projects of NIE.
• Administration of the financial project (WBS) modules in SAP and Research management system.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and management on grant budget, grant usage, reporting and cashflow.
• Plan/oversee internal administrative processes in research grant management, grant usage and grant reporting to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of funding agencies and University's policies.
• Collaborate with external funders and external auditors on grant matters.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvements to enhance the financial management processes and procedures; through streamlining and automation.
• Supervision of staff.

Requirements

• A University Degree in Accountancy or in Accounting major.
• At least 5 years of accounting and managerial experience.
• Must be a member of the ISCA (The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants).
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and writing skills.
• Strong conceptualization and analytical skills.
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as a team player.
• Knowledge of SAP Hana S4 and SAP Concur would be an advantage.

Finance Executive – Pandan Road – 5.5 day week-Singaporeans only

Job Descriptions/ Key Responsibilities:

· Provide accounts receivable support to the finance team.

· Follow up on customer queries relating to outstanding invoices and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure that queries are resolved to receive prompt settlement.

· Follow up on outstanding past due with customers for better cash flow.

· Accounting for logistics and ad-hoc projects

· Update daily incoming fund and supporting documents for bank receipts.

· Posting of receipt entries in accounting system

· Perform receipt allocation in accounting system.

· Update monthly bank reconciliation and monthly audit schedule.

· Generate monthly Accounts Payable and Receivables aging reports.

· Any other ad hoc project assigned by the management.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Center Manager and functional to the PS Assistant Controller, this role is responsible for the financial operations of the 3 Manufacturing Centers in Singapore, Subang and Batam.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Internal controls, compliance with company policies & procedures, SOX compliance, insuring complete accounting & finance integrity.

- Document and implement the finance and accounting processes and policies to include business case, financial ownership, financial and operations processes, deadlines and responsible for reporting.

- Provide financial advisory role to Operations and guide financial decisions by establishing financial process, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

- Work closely with the Hubs to support the plant accounting, error resolution, process changes and policy implementation.

- Drive financial/business process improvement and transformation initiatives to build best in class processes that are efficient to support continuous growth of the business.

- Prepare and report in SAP/BPC actual results for selected entities (not to include statutory results).

- Lead in the monthly NFM, quarterly ROFO and annual Budget process and present to the Management.

- Consolidation and reporting of Center results to the Management.

- Prepare/review ad hoc reports for Company management with focus on operations and actively involved in operations strategic decisions by means of explaining financial tools available and financial implications of the decisions made.

- Prepare/review Investments analysis for decision making (AFE’s).

- Assist Hub in the External Statutory and Tax audit and reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- Degree in Accounting with at least 10 years of relevant experiences, of which 3 years are in a similar capacity.

- Background in an oilfield environment, especially within the drilling products sphere will be highly advantageous.

Competencies:

- Advanced working knowledge of SAP. Working knowledge of BPC and sound understanding of US GAAP.
