Reporting directly to the Financial Planning & Revenue Operations Manager, the FAA will be responsible for month-end closing, financial reporting, management reporting — ensuring compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to spearhead improvement projects aimed at improving and streamlining finance process, as well as identifying issues for cost improvement. Additionally, the FAA will collaborate with auditors and tax professionals to meet regulatory reporting requirements and stay abreast of statutory changes.

Playing a pivotal role within the finance team, the FAA will also champion ViSenze’s values while driving the efficiency in finance operations, accounting policies, practices, and compliance. • Perform month-end closing activities 
• Perform full sets of accounts, including the consolidation of overseas subsidiaries, reviewing month-end closing entries and reporting packages from outsourced accounting providers, and maintaining accurate balance sheet schedules
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages with variance analyses.
• Responsible for day-to-day financial and accounting operations within the group which may include intercompany entries, bank reconciliation, revenue billing, capital expenditures, and other transactions

Job Description

• Assist with the preparation of weekly flash report.
• Prepare monthly P&L statements for the assigned services. Ensure team members complete the monthly closing for their services on time.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and distribution of monthly reports to the management. These include regional P&L, commentaries, actual vs. flash variance analysis, actual vs. budget gap analysis, etc...

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Experience with complex consolidations of portfolio companies or entities, ideally in an investment firm setting.

• At least 10 years of management experience in roles requiring oversight of a combination of critical back-office functions, including accounting, in a VC/PE/IB firm.

• At least 5 years of experience in a controller function with audit liaison (or Big 4 audit) experience and serving as the final check for integrity of financial data and reports.
• Experience selecting and managing the quality and cost of outsourced business services and strategic vendors.
• Technology-savvy with experience implementing and overseeing (1) business automation, (2) new systems (e.g. Finance and project management software systems), and (3) policy/SOP rollouts within an SME context.
• Highly analytic, methodical, and problem-solving approach that supports and enables efficient and effective decision-making amongst multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, partnering, and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a wide range of internal and external partners, including our portfolio companies.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills; comfortable interacting and communicating with executive and senior management levels.
• Strong acumen in financial management, financial processes, and business analytics.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting software, Excel and PowerPoint.

Being part of the Research Office at WKWSCI, this position supports the grant administration function in advising and assisting faculty and research staff members in all aspects of internally funded research projects and other scholarly research activities.

Responsibilities:

Research Grant Administration:

• Provides effective administration of research grant call applications and management of awarded grants

• Assumes the role as SAP Concur reviewer and first-level approver and work with the Finance department to provide the fastest and smoothest approver flow.

Communication of Research Information

• Creates weekly research e-newsletter to communicate information on internal and external grant calls to faculty and research staff members.

• Develops content for the school’s website for research grants, projects and achievements.

• Develops Research-related publications (Research Brochures /Pamphlets)

• Assists with the organisation of the monthly WKWSCI Speaker Series (Research Talks).

Monitoring Research Budgets and Assets

• Monitor budgets and expenditures relating to research grants

• Monitor deadlines for the submission of expenditure reports as well as progress and final reports

Requirements:

• A degree holder from a recognised university

• Proven administrative skills including the ability to handle data with accuracy.

• Excellent reporting with some finance working knowledge would be essential.

• Preferably 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience. Prior working experience in an academic institution will be an advantage.

[What you will be working on]

As a FRAP business partner, you will be responsible for supporting the IT division by providing advisory on their procure to pay activities. This role requires extensive cross-functional partnership with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. Engaging with relevant internal and external stakeholders on:

• Budget management such as budget analysis/evaluation, budget preparation, monitoring and reporting

• Procurement activities such as policy formulation, co-solution and vetting of procurement requirement specifications and approvals for compliance with procurement policies, guidelines and processes.

• Financial reporting and management which include accounts payable activities such as payment review and processing, fixed assets and tax accounting as well as the use of data analytics to derive relevant insights and trends.

2. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, while keeping abreast of policies, processes and key risks.
