Your key responsibilities:

• Perform thorough investigations into potential money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes arising from enquiries/ intelligence from regulators/law enforcement agencies/external agencies; and referrals from Global FCIU and country AFC teams.

Your skills and experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of working experience in a Financial Crime Intelligence or Investigations role within a regulatory or financial institution.
• Proven sound technical AML and investigations knowledge and skills with demonstrated hands on experience in potential money laundering, terrorist financing, and other related financial crimes.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with diverse banking products across business lines in Corporate and Investment Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management and experience in working on AML monitoring and case management systems.
• Be the subject matter expert in AML/CTF typologies/trends.
• Working experience in data analytics-heavy projects using data analytic and visualisation tools such as MS Excel and the ability to consolidate data from multiple data sources.
• Have Relevant AML or related certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA Diploma, ACFE).

A Snapshot

As the Financial Controller (APAC), you will report to the Group Financial Controller, and work closely with the rest of the Finance team, making your mark in a number of ways:

• You lead the Singapore based financial control team and be responsible for continuing to build out the high performing team.
• You will be responsible for the overseeing the financial reporting requirements of the Group’s APAC operations – including but not limited to managing the APAC Group’s financial year-end close as well as local and regional audits.
• You will be responsible for overseeing the improving the financial control policies and processes, determining and driving the strategy of how they continue to scale and transform globally as we continue to grow existing locations, add in new locations and work closely with the Finance leadership team to solve our most complex cross-functional challenges.
• You will work closely with other teams within Finance including Finance Operations, FP&A, Tax and cross functionally with other leaders at AirTrunk including Legal, Development, Technology and Operations teams.

Your Day to Day

• Responsibility for various information undertakings and other requirements of financing arrangements.
• Oversee the financial control function of the Group across Asia Pacific including all matters pertaining to financial and statutory reporting, consolidation, and taxation.
• Management of the year-end audit process for the Group’s APAC entities in Singapore and Malaysia – including leading the relationship with the Group’s Singapore and Malaysia auditors.
• Preparation of accounting papers for complex financial reporting matters.
• Working together with colleagues in the Finance Systems and Finance Operations team – management /oversight of the Group’s financial systems, including the ERP and statutory accounts preparation systems; and
• Lead the development and continued improvement of operational best practices in accounting and finance.
• Management of internal controls, delegations, policies and procedures, including continued development of controls appropriate for a growing business across the APAC region
• Staying abreast of potential changes in the operating environment and developments within the business to advise on appropriate risk management practices.

• Study vehicle repair history and ensure Workshop Manager and Senior Motor Claim Advisor are informed of any unusual or repeated complaint.
• Write out, in-accordance with the individual vehicle diagnosis, individual work orders with the job item numbers, job specification and flat rate specifications.

• Personalise vehicle delivery after repair to the customer including explaining the repair invoice to customer; inform the customer of any outstanding matter, for instance jobs required to be done on next visit or parts on order if any.

• Onboard new desks and facilitate desk changes from product control perspective.
• Liaise with desks heads, risk, middle office, and back office to resolve trade exceptions and business reporting.
• Understand the wider APAC business’s entity structure and resulting transfer pricing (TP) arrangement and be able to explain pre- and post- TP entity level results.
• Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements in APAC.
• Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Competencies

• Professional accounting qualification with at least 5 years’ post qualification experience in financial services
• Qualified or part qualified accountant (e.g. CPA, CGMA, ACCA)
• University Degree, Masters or above preferred
• High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
• Ability to challenge status quo, think outside the box and continuously improve/automate processes
• Strong communication skills – ability to articulate P&L and balance sheet movements/drivers to senior management and ability to deal with the front office
• High self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
• Strategic collaborator with insight and agility, able to anticipate future challenges, ensuring operational effectiveness

Skills and Experience

• High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other related software
• Min 8 years’ experience in related role
• Experience with PeopleSoft accounting software is a plus
• Experience in other APAC jurisdictions is valued
• Experience in a broking, clearing or trading business preferred
• Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
