PURPOSE:

Prepare for regional monthly details performance analysis, developed from financial management report. The scopes include supports for region and Opcos annual performance budget, mid-year range strategy plan and monthly outlook. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

• Compile and consolidate subsidiaries’ monthly performance reporting data, which include sales, costs, and expenses actual result and outlook.

The Senior Financial Modeling Analyst reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Planning and Governance. This position gathers, analyzes, and summarizes financial recommendations on new capital investments and sales opportunities.

This position will work closely with the Senior Director, Strategic Planning and Governance, Sales & Construction department head to develop business case modeling for new locations to analyze profitability, make financial recommendations and monitor financial performance. This position will also work closely with the Sales department to understand complex and large opportunities and evaluate how the opportunities will compare to the original site business case.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with other departments to pull together assumptions to build business case for new sites
• Analyze business case inputs for reasonableness and comparison to other investments
• Update new site business cases with actuals, revised forecast assumptions and compare against original business case
• Analyze financial results and evaluate asset performance
• Understand and calculate financial business plan measurements including IRR, NPV & terminal value
• Forecast debt requirements and submit draw requests
• Collaborate with Sales department to understand large deal commercial terms to prepare profitability analysis for board approval
• Update business cases with large deal opportunities to evaluate sales impact on project profitability and against budget
• Provide support to third party investors thru profitability analysis and data support
• Prepare cost comparison analysis as requested
• Prepare power point presentations for Executive audience communicating financial metrics.
• Other projects as assigned to support Finance department
• Prepare various monthly actual vs. budget (vs. forecast) reports and produce variance analyses for assigned departments; effectively communicating key takeaways
• Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics
• Performs other duties and adhoc analytics as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of IFRS

Education & Experience

• Degree in accounting or finance

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Strategy and Planning:

• Receive and evaluate internal reports of suspicious transactions or financial crime related alerts and, where necessary, to make the required internal notifications to senior management and make external reports to the National Crime Agency (NCA) or other relevant bodies

• The production, distribution, assessment, review of (and thereafter oversight that the group entities are acting on accordance with) policies in relation to Financial crime to ensure that the groups systems and controls are in full compliance with regulatory requirements

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor: Market Risk as part of operationalising and building out the Market Risk Management Framework for Rio Tinto Commercial. The role will work very closely with the Sales & Marketing, Digital and Finance teams.

• Perform detailed data analytics to identify and explain risks and P&L drivers
• Create and report daily mark-to-market based P&L
