Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for directing and overseeing the financial operations of the company. This includes ensuring robust financial planning, strategic risk management, accurate reporting, investor relations, and compliance with regulatory requirements. As a senior executive in a listed company, the CFO plays a critical role in maintaining investor confidence and ensuring transparency in financial communications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership:
• Provide strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making and business growth.
• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with corporate goals and maximize shareholder value.
• Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on the financial implications of business activities and potential risks.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
• Ensure the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements in compliance with SGX reporting requirements.
• Maintain full compliance with relevant accounting standards, corporate governance, and statutory regulations.
• Oversee the internal control framework to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Lead interactions with external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and credibility.
3. Investor Relations:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and key stakeholders.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations program to enhance market perception and maintain shareholder confidence.
• Prepare financial disclosures, press releases, and presentations for investor meetings and Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
4. Budgeting & Financial Planning:
• Lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling initiatives.
• Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and identify areas for operational improvement.
• Manage liquidity and capital resources to ensure the company's financial stability.
5. Risk Management:
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate financial risks that could impact the company's operations or reputation.
• Develop and maintain a robust enterprise risk management framework.
• Ensure optimal insurance coverage and safeguard the company against unforeseen financial exposures.
6. Leadership & Team Development:
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team to achieve organizational goals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the finance department.
• Drive talent development initiatives to build future financial leaders within the organization.
7. Mergers, Acquisitions & Capital Markets:
• Assess and execute strategic investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
• Oversee capital-raising activities, including equity, debt, and other funding mechanisms.
• Provide financial due diligence and integration support for corporate transactions.
Skills & Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Experience:
• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a CFO or equivalent capacity for a listed company.
• Proven expertise in corporate governance, compliance, and investor relations.
• Significant experience with SGX reporting requirements and listed-company operations.
Technical Skills:
• Exceptional knowledge of financial regulations, reporting standards, and corporate governance practices.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, strategic planning, and risk management.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office tools.
