Salary Range : $1800 - $2500 (including incentives)

Job Description:

1) 6 months rotational program across various functions under operations including hire purchase operations, floor financing operations, referral operations and collections

2) In charge of executing daily operational activities include administering all loan matters, block discounting submission and redemption, off-site surveying dealers and debt collection duties which include reminding borrowers about the repayment dates

3) Responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debts through phone calls or email, and other appropriate actions

4) Negotiate payment plans with debtors, advise them on the payment options and methods

5) Ensure acceptable number of calls per day and follow SLA when doing debt collection

6) Apply negotiation skills to ensure successful collection of debts

7) Update the collection system immediately on all collection activities undertaken for cases assigned

8) Generate payment reminders and final notice warnings to debtors when payments are not being made

9) Answers all enquiries and matters from hirers and dealers in a timely manner, and interact with Relationship Managers when required in following up on outstanding matters/documents from them

10) Ensure compliance to company policies, financial, process and industrial standards

11) Ensure proper filings, safe keeping of loan related documents and arrange archival

12) Process and input data entry for loan applications

13) Performs ad hoc duties as assigned by Supervisors

Job Requirement:

1. Academic qualification: Diploma & equivalent

2. 1 or 2 years of working in handling credit documents, loan administration, KYC / AML, and collection

3. Competent in English (verbal & written)

4. High level of integrity, meticulous and detail-orientated

Primary Objective:

• Perform the daily BAU operations i.e. loan disbursements, repayments, fee collections, prepayments, rollovers

and redemptions, monitoring and sweeping of funds from special-purpose accounts e.g. DSRA, Operating

accounts for loan repayments and monitoring of scheduled repayments for bilateral and syndication deals.

Perform GL reconciliation & ensure outages are resolved within stipulated turnaround time.

• Ensures accuracy, efficiency and meets the agreed turnaround time with the Business Units while avoiding

operational risks and losses.

• Supports the department’s effort to improve productivity, efficiency and lower costs via continuous process

improvements.

• Maintains good business relationships/partnerships with key stakeholders, aligning actions to customer needs.

• Participate in process digitalization or automation initiatives

Productivity Improvement

• Ensure all SLA/TAT are being met.

• Ensure work is completed with speed and accuracy.

• Contribute process improvements ideas to improve TAT, efficiency and reduction of internal errors in work

processes.

Process Efficiency / Process Improvements

• Participate in process improvement discussions to improve the turnaround time for BAU processes.

• Identify operational risks and implement measures/controls to plug the risk gaps so that processes are in line with

the with all internal & external policies/guidelines and requirements of the regulators

Operational Risk & Compliance

• Work together with Team Lead to ensure that audit rating is “Satisfactory” or better.

• Work together with Team Lead to ensure that CRA rating is at least “On Target” or better.

• Work together with Team Lead to ensure no/minimal operational lapses/financial losses.

Individual Contribution/Competency

• Participate in BCP Co-ordinator/Risk Co-ordinator or Data Steward roles

You will be responsible for all finance, system, treasury and taxation-related matters for our region agencies (Oceania and SEA). You will bring best practice to all region agencies and improve their performance by implementing work improvement projects that are geared towards quality, compliance and efficiency in finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Management:

• Ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures and uniform accouting policies are adopted across all offices under the Region office
• Ensure statutory audits are conducted within stipulated time frame and filed on time
• Ensure bank reconciliations are performed and resolved monthly
• Accurate and timely financial reporting – ensure book closure processes of all entities

Treasury Management:

• Monitor projected and actual cash flow of agencies on monthly basis
• Negotiate with banks for the best competitive FX rates
• Ensure effective working capital management through monitoring of AR and AP aging and evidence of internal review and actions taken

Tax Management:

• Ensure tax planning policy set by HQ is adhered to
• Conduct tax audits and work with HQ on tax projects
• Ensure compliance to tax regulations in the jurisdiction

Risk Assessment:

• Identify and collate potential risks in all countries periodically after discussion with different stakeholders
• Develop risk mitigation strategy and establish effective internal control to support overall objective

System Controls

• Develop SOPs for different funcitons to ensure leakages are kept at the minimum
• Implement uniform accounting policies based on company policies where they exist and develop where they are required

ERP Support

• Lead the development of new system implementation
• Provide a single point of contact to work and resolve all issues related to GFS implementation and ongoing support

Regional Office Finance

• Weekly recon of petty cash to cash imprest and to supervise regional office audit
• Construct Regional office admin budgets and to run regional office cost controls

Agency Matters

• Ensure smooth finance operations such as timely and accurate submission of agency statement of accounts (ASA), review of ASA balance reconciliation etc
• Monitor and control Agents in meeting key financial KPIs (ASA Balance, AR, AP, Bank)
• Provide guidance and training to Agents Finance on use LMS/GFS and other PIL systems

MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor Degree in Accountancy, Finance or any related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Finance, with wide exposure across finance systems, treasury and taxation-related matters
• Preferably having shipping industry experience
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
