The Role

The role reports directly to the Team Lead. He or She is responsible for supporting the Professional Engineers to conduct site inspections and supervise work on site.

Responsibilities:

• To carry out thorough review and verify all project-related drawings (including working drawings, shop drawings, authority submission drawings, and as-built drawings) and specifications for all Works. Promptly identify and address any discrepancies or potential issues before the commencement and throughout the construction.
• To carry out construction supervision of construction works as required under the BCA regulations and ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site.
• Responsible for the co-ordination of work on site and ensure construction safety.
• Undertake any other duties related to the project assigned.
• To ensure that all installation methods and material used are in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications.
• To liaise with the contractors in the coordination of site works and resolving site installation problems.
• Maintain a daily site records and submit weekly progress report with photographs to the Consultant/Project Lead.
• To proactively highlight issue and any unusual site findings to the Consultant/Project Lead to ensure solutions or directions are given in a timely manner.
• To check and certify site progress / completed works for contractor’s claim.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from Singapore Polytechnic or other tertiary institutions of equivalent standing.
• National Certificate on Construction Supervision from BCA or equivalent preferred.
• Possess at least 3 years of site supervision experience, preferably in building works.

Job Description

1. Performing house-keeping duties and ensuring general maintenance of the assigned labs, store and preparation rooms for a clean and safe working environment
2. Ensuring that standard lab instruments, equipment, glassware and apparatus are well-maintained and in good working condition
3. Carrying out routine lab procedures such preparation of simple chemical solutions and culture media
4. Performing setup and clean-up of lab supplies, apparatus and equipment for scheduled lab activities
5. Ensuring sufficient supplies for scheduled lab activities, and replenishing laboratory chemicals and replacing apparatus when required
6. Issuing and retrieving apparatus and teaching materials as directed
7. Carrying out simple maintenance, calibration and repair of minor faults in lab apparatus, equipment and instruments
8. Performing stock-take and updating of stock cards and electronic inventory lists as directed
9. Maintaining and updating relevant lab records (e.g. loan books) and carrying out simple data entry

Key Responsibilities

• Processing of NPC submitted to NETS for exchange

• Data recording into the NPC portal

Requirements

• Diploma in any discipline
• Minimum 1 year of admin/operation experience
