The Innovation & Enterprise Fellowship Programme (IFP) seeks to grow the pool of deep-tech talent in Singapore with the capabilities to support the commercialisation of deep-tech research and bring nascent technologies to market. Targeting researchers, scientists, and engineers (RSEs), the programme aims to develop industry relevant innovation and entrepreneurial skills through both formal and on-the-job training.
At EDDC, our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with public sector and industry partners. EDDC now has an opening and is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and skilled IFP Fellow in our Antibody Design group at EDDC. This is an eighteen-month on-the-job training programme that involves participation in and supporting inter-disciplinary and collaborative drug discovery projects. The successful candidate will be responsible to help enhance our antibody platform technologies. The position will provide an exciting opportunity to thrive at the intersection of technology and biology.
Responsibilities:
- Independently design and engineer innovative antibodies for therapeutic and technology-development applications
- Perform biochemical, biophysical, and functional characterization of antibodies with different modalities and specificity
- Collaborate with scientists from various therapeutic areas to ensure timely progress in research projects
- Analyze and present data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its implications in the context of drug discovery
Requirements:
- Degree or postgraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on experience in molecular biology including design, expression, purification, biochemical/biophysical characterization of proteins
- Desirable experience in employing in silico approaches for antibody engineering
- Experience in flow cytometry-based and immune cell function assays
- Understanding of protein and/or antibody structure-function relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines
- Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience in antibody technology and immunology-related research is a plus
