Duties & Responsibilities
• Design and implement high quality complex applications and solutions.
• Provide post-implementation maintenance support.
• Conduct technical feasibility study, analyse requirement specifications and collaborate with teams to design and architect solutions including developing proof of concepts.
• Document and update the technical design specifications.
• Prepare effort estimation, develop technical activities, schedule and work breakdown structures to ensure compliance to project scope, deliverables, resources and budget.

Responsibilities

• Build out a next generation research platform that is leveraged by our quant researchers for alpha and strategy research
• Develop scalable, distributed and highly performant systems for production trading and portfolio management including automated production, deployment and real-time monitoring pipelines
• Collaborate closely with a team of exceptional software engineers and quantitative researchers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Prior internships or full-time work experience that demonstrate your ability to architect and implement complex software systems to solve real-world problems
• Exceptional software design and development skills in Java or Python
• Expertise in object-oriented design and functional programming
• Solid understanding of systems programming or demonstrable experience in distributed systems design and/or implementation
• Experience with workflow systems and highly scalable environments such as Kubernetes is a plus
• Basic knowledge of machine learning methods or statistical modelling techniques. Advanced knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud environments and Linux
• Versatile problem-solving skills, and a drive to succeed. Desire to learn continuously and increase your impact

• 8 years of experience of development, design and integration of mainframe solutions
• Proficient in Cobol, JCL, Db2, Changeman, Expeditor, IBM developer(IDZ), Tivoli workload scheduler (TWS),
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to be able to get things done swiftly and independently.
• Experience in automated/manual testing methodologies with a focus on functional and integration testing.
• Experienced with implementing CI/CD for mainframe and GitLab facilitated software delivery.
• Understanding in webservices (SOAP/REST) and supported data structures such as XML, JSON.
• Applies well-defined and disciplined development, implementation, and production processes.
• Should possess knowledge of agile development and tools – JIRA/Confluence.
