Position Overview

As a Chiropractic Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities

• Patient Interaction: Provide a warm and professional welcome to patients, ensuring they feel valued and cared for throughout their visit.
• Appointment Management: Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently, including follow-ups for X-rays and Report of Findings (ROF) sessions.
• Support Services: Assist chiropractors during patient consultations by preparing materials, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and handling administrative tasks.
• Education & Encouragement: Share valuable insights and guidance with patients about their care plans, exercises, and wellness goals.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Mandarin or another Chinese dialect is a strong advantage.
• Strong organizational abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in administrative tools, scheduling software, and basic office technology.
• Prior experience in healthcare, customer service, or reception roles is an advantage.

Working Hours

• 5 to 5.5 days per week, including Saturdays.

Contract Period: From 3 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2026. Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Mondays to Fridays from 7.30 am to 2.30 pm, inclusive of 1/2 hr lunch break.

• Service not required during Mar, June, Sep and Nov/Dec school holidays unless specified by HOD Science.

Scope of Works:

In the Area of Teaching and Learning

1. To prepare and get ready resources for Science teaching and learning
2. To assist Science teachers in the setting up of experiments, etc. for Science lessons and/or activities and clearing of resources after each Science lesson and/or activity.
3. To assist in the setting up of ICT and Science equipment such as projector, iPads, dataloggers, and microscopes for Science lessons and/or activities
4. To perform yearly inventory and stock taking of Science resources and equipment in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace.
5. To organise the Science resources and equipment in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace.
6. To maintain cleanliness and assist in ensuring safety in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace at all times.
7. To assist in conducting simple Science enrichment activities such as showcasing the life cycles of some animals and creative toys during designated recesses / Science school-based events to complement Science learning in the classroom.

Science Projects

1. To assist in the loan and yearly inventory and stock taking of resources in various Science Programmes e.g.TinkerSpace Programme, Science Sparkles, E2K-Ignite Programmes, etc.
2. To assist the department in monitoring the Aquaponics System including feeding the fishes and harvesting the produce.
3. To assist the department in the feeding and maintainance of the Mealworm Beetles, Stick Insects Enclosure, etc.
4. Must be able to comfortably handle ‘live’ specimens e.g. mealworm beetles Others To do any other duties as assigned by HOD Science.

Deployment:

The Science Laboratory Assistant is required to work 42.5hours per week, spread over 5 days.

1. During term time, Working hours: 7:00am to 4:15pm on Mondays to Fridays (excluding *45min lunch break).
2. During school holidays,Working hours: 8:00am to 5:15pm on Mondays to Fridays (excluding 45min lunch break). Stationed at GO to assist in Admin Work *12:45pm – 1:30pm - Lunch.

Scope of Works:

The duties and responsibilities of the Science Laboratory Assistant:

1. Prepare teaching resources for Science lessons, EE/LLP level programmes, E2K enrichment classes, i.e., packing of materials needed for experiments, setting up of, clearing away and cleaning of experimental set-ups and /or demonstration apparatus as instructed by the Level Reps and Science teachers;

2. Prepare resources for the conduct of Science Practical Tests and maintain examination integrity;

3. Ensure the maintenance (daily cleanliness and upkeep) and safety requirements of the following Special Rooms / Spaces under the Science Department;

• - Science Rooms
• - Maker Studio(s)
• - Learning spaces (e.g. EE Hub, Outdoor Experiential Learning spaces such as the Ecogarden, Rainwater Harvest system, Aquaponics/hydrophonics system, Butterfly Garden, Gardening areas, etc)

4. Adhere to the following requirement stated in the Safety Handbook:

PART A

• - Maintain a safe and tidy lab environment.
• - Display general laboratory safety guidelines clearly for all laboratories.
• - Display the evacuation route prominently in each laboratory.
• - Ensure that all apparatus and equipment are safe for use.
• - Ensure that chemicals are labelled properly in accordance to GHS in Chapter9.
• - Ensure that spills are handled in accordance with guidelines.
• - Ensure that chemicals (see Section 11.3.5.) and biological materials (see Section 10.3.7.) are disposed of appropriately.
• - Store, use and handle chemical explosive precursors (EP) in accordance with the regulations stated in Section 11.2.

PART B

• - Maintain laboratory equipment, apparatus, PPE, materials and specimens in good working condition.
• - Report all faulty machines and equipment immediately, and display an "Out of Order" sign prominently on the machines/equipment.
• - Check that safety devices in the laboratory, such as emergency eyewashers, showers and fire extinguishers, are in working condition.
• - Inspect gas and water systems and initiate necessary repair or maintenance work.
• - Maintain a record or file of the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) that accompany purchased chemicals (see also Section 11.3.1. on the classification of hazardous chemicals).
• - Keep a stock book and breakage record and indicate necessary replacement.
• - Prepare an inventory of stocks annually.
• - Maintain a usage record.
• - Check and replenish first aid supplies (see Annex B for the minimum contents of a First Aid Kit).
• - Guide or supervise laboratory attendants, or other personnel working in the lab, on laboratory safety.

5. Support Science/Maker-related CCAs on CCA days from 7:30am to 9:00am;

6. Oversee the use of the Maker Studio(s) by students during recess and after school;

7. Carry out regular maintenance of Science resources/apparatus and the SPARKLES Kit;

8. Carry out internal stock take of resources and inform Science HOD/LH SC on stocks to be replaced;

9. Keep record of internal stock-take, breakage record, replacement record;

10. Prepare for and support HOD/LH Science in the physical external stocktake with personel from ST Engineering;

11. Carry out follow-up actions after external stocktake, guided by HOD/LH SC;

Administrative duties and responsibilities of the Science Laboratory Assistant during school holidays:

1. The School Laboratory Assistant is to perform the following administrative duties:

• - front desk duties (e.g. handling calls in general office, attending to students)
• - filing and organising documents
• - packing of items
• - assisting ESOs
• - administration tasks assigned by the Vice-Principal / Admin Manager.

2. To be responsible for the proper maintenance of all the First Aid Boxes in the school

Administrative duties and responsibilities of the Science Laboratory Assistant during term time on an ad hoc basis:

1. The lab Asst will be called upon to assist in the administrative duties listed in item 1 when needed.

Deployment:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:00am to 4:00pm, inclusive of 30 mins lunch break
• Fridays: 7:00am to 3:30pm, inclusive of 30 mins lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Scope of Works:

Manning of General Office counter;

1. Attend to queries from students, parents or members of public (phonecalls & walk ins)

2. Assist in general administrative and student related duties

• Follow up with absentees
• Checking of documents for Financial Assistance application
• Inform parents on Financial Assistance outcome
• Guide staff for incident report
• Preparing early dismissal slip for unwell students
• Updating of daily student attendance

3. Assist in records management (incident report and late list)

4. Assist in other office or admin duties assigned by the Authority

Deployment:

• Mondays to Fridays: 8:00am to 1:30pm, not inclusive of lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public
• holidays

Scope of Works:

1. Prepare Science teaching & learning resources based on:

• Workbook requirements
• Teaching needs e.g. pull out plant model display when the P3s are learning about plants to be showcased in the lab

2. Maintain cleanliness of the two labs and the equipment

3. Arrange for feeding of the fish in the aquaponics system (both

indoor and outdoor), pond at eco-garden

4. Stock-take of equipment at least twice a year

5. Assist in the inventory taking when the external audit asset team

comes by

6. Assist teachers in the lab during lab sessions if required

7. Assist teachers in innovative learning lab for Science-related

activities whenever possible including setting up of projector to

play video in canteen during recess time

8. Assist teachers in preparation of activities for Environmental and

Science club

9. Look into the display and loaning of Science books to the students on an ad-hoc basis, either in lab or in the canteen

10. Help to assist in recess activities during Science department

events such as integrated learning week

11. Help to assist during Science practical test days, will be required

to work longer on some days in Term 2 to prepare and to assist

during the days. (Up till 2:30pm, 2 – 3 days prior and after the

practical test days)

12. Must be confident in handling live specimens e.g. changing and clean of live stick insect tanks / changing leaves stalks for live caterpillars.

• Mondays to Thursdays: 9:00am to 6:00pm, inclusive of 30 mins lunch break
• Fridays: 9:30am to 6:00pm, inclusive of 30 mins lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

1. Handle Telephone Calls and inquiries from stakeholders
2. Help with walkin queries from students, parents, and teachers
3. Provide first aid to students
4. Assist in daily admin duties such as data entry and documentation
5. Pack brouchers, booklets and souvenirs mfor staff and students
6. Print worksheets and examination papers
7. Any other adhoc duties assigned by the school

• Mon to Fri: 7.15 am to 4.45 pm
• Service not required on Sat, Sun and PH's

Scope of Works:

1. Provide support to teachers in teaching and learning
2. Assist in the preparation of apparatus, equipment and reagents for laboratory lessons
3. Maintain general cleanliness of equipment and workplace
4. Simple administrative and office work as and when request
5. Any other duties assigned by Science HOD or School
