The IRSG is recognized as an International Body through the negotiation of a Headquarter Agreement with the Government of the United Kingdom in 1978. The IRSG has 35 Member Governments including European Union (28 Countries), Singapore, India, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cote D’ Ivoire, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Subsequently, a new Headquarter Agreement with the Government of Singapore was signed in 2008. The IRSG Secretariat is based in Singapore.

The mission of the IRSG is to be the world’s authoritative source of statistical data and forecasts for all aspects of the world rubber industry, including production, consumption and trade in rubber and rubber products. The incumbent will act in this capacity as Personal Assistant to the Secretary-General, acting as a sounding board for ideas and ensuring enhanced efficiency and structure across the organisation. S/he is also expected to provide strategic advice and guidance on key developments within the organisation and ensure the appropriate policy approaches are developed to meet IRSG’s mission and objectives. 1. EDUCATION

A University degree (Minimum of MSc) in Law, Economics, Business Management, Engineering and other related areas.

2. WORK EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

§ Minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience both at national and international level in two of the following:, international organization, intergovernmental organization, financial institution, think tank, educational, research and development institution.

§ Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.

Responsibilities
