Job Description – Embryologist

The Embryologist is responsible for the care and handling of all oocytes, embryos, and sperm within the laboratory. This role involves preparing gametes for insemination or injection, transferring and freezing oocytes, embryos, and sperm, while ensuring a safe environment for both fresh and frozen specimens.

Key Skills

Proficiency in IVF procedures, including:

• Cryopreservation and thawing of embryos
• Embryo culture and monitoring
• Grading and scoring of eggs and embryos
• Identification, selection, maturation, and fertilization of eggs
• Insemination (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
• Selection of embryos for transfer
• Sperm analysis and washing
• Teasing and identifying testicular spermatozoa from biopsies
• Professional demeanour and ability to collaborate effectively within a coordinated team
• High degree of personal discipline in the laboratory, demonstrating consistent reproducibility in work quality
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Requirements:

• A degree in a relevant field of science from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Availability to work on Sundays and public holidays, as well as outside regular office hours when necessary.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in laboratory settings is preferred.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Perform tasks and processes according to Embryologist skill levels and abilities.
2. Take responsibility for advanced aspects of laboratory operations and assist in training new staff as needed.
3. When trained, demonstrate the maturity and responsibility to work with minimal supervision.

Job Scope:

• Provide daily administrative support for the various departments in the organisation

• Check and update databases

• Extracting of data, preparation of reports and paperwork for meetings

• Other ad-hoc duties assigned by the manager

Working Hours:

• Mon - Fri (Office hours)

Requirement:

• Min A Levels/Diploma/Degree in any studies

• Candidates with some admin experience will be advantageous

• Min. commitment of 3 - 6 months or more

OVERVIEW:

The Corporate Planning function at HMI Medical plays a pivotal role in driving integration and synergies across key entities within the Group. This role offers recent graduates the opportunity to significantly contribute to the integration of one of HMI Medical's entities. As a Corporate Planning Analyst, you will report to the Corporate Planning Senior Manager and assist in project management and execution of key integration workstreams. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams and support in reporting to senior management on key integration initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the development of integration plans to achieve synergy targets and value realization for the respective entity.
• Assist in the project management and execution of integration plans/key integration projects for one of HMI Medical’s entities.
• Assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of integration workstreams and related tasks/action items.

Job requirements
