JOB DESCRIPTION

A Learning Area Leader provides strategic leadership and vision for the department to align with the school’s overall mission and values. They lead and mentor the teachers in the department, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Learning Area Leaders will teach their subjects or disciplines as required.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the expectations specified in the Subject / Specialist Teacher Job Description, a Learning Area Leader ensures effective pedagogy across the area. They:

• Develop and maintain a collegial and supportive culture in the curriculum area that encourages innovation
• Contribute to the development of whole school strategic planning and lead the vision for the curriculum area

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher qualification) in Physical Education, or a related field
• Evidence of continued relevant professional development
• Experience working with bilingual and multilingual learners and learners with diverse needs
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in an international school environment where the school curriculum focused on PYP, MYP, IGCSE or IBDP
• Coaching accreditation (preferred)
• Previous leadership experience in a school setting is highly desirable

Role Purpose

Your role will focus on driving business performance discussions by delivering relevant reports and commentary that provide valuable insights. These insights will play a critical role in influencing the Finance team and supporting stakeholders with meaningful analysis.

SAMH SAY-IT! (Sports, Arts, Youth Integrated Team) provides assessment and intervention for youths, and engages youths for ongoing monitoring and support. YIT also works actively with youth agencies, schools and community partners to provide holistic case management for youths and their families.

Responsibilities:

Basic Emotional Support

· Manage client through client engagement, information gathering,case assessment (BPSS, risk & needs assessment and other relevant assessment tools), case conceptualization, case planning and intervention plans for best clients’ outcomes

· Conduct visits to school/centre, home or hospital

Screening

Patient Service Associates (PSA) provide frontline counter services to patients. PSA is to assist patients by checking patient’s service/order requirement, managing patient queues, handle basic enquiries (e.g. appointment booking) and to provide administrative support to medical technologists and radiographers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reception of all appointment and walk-in patients at the Diagnostics counters
• Ensure 2 patients’ identifiers (NRIC & Name) are verified for all patients when handling patient registration electronically (i.e. EPIC, LIS, RIS, POS, BSS.) and verifying tests ordered by doctors.
• Accurate appointment scheduling / booking and registration for eligible mammogram patients via Breast Screen Singapore (BSS) portal
• Registration of mammogram patients are done accurately via BSS portal, including updating of patient particulars such as mailing address and contact number.
• Relevant instructions are communicated effectively to patients prior to their procedures/tests, chaperon patients to changing or counselling room where applicable.
• Handle enquiries and provide prompt and courteous service delivery to internal and external customers.
• Responsible for payment collection when assigned to cashier duties and ensure tally of end-of day sales with cash settlement and other transaction records.
• Ensure Medisave Authorization Forms (MAF) are filled in accurately with patients’ endorsement and approval, and all Medisave transactions are captured accurately in EASIPOS
• Accurate application of promotions and discount vouchers appropriately and to validate its utilization via EASIPOS
• Support administrative function to centre in-charge including but not limited to dispatching of lab and x-ray reports, proper record and documentation of courier services.

Reporting to Centre-IC, Medical Technologist (MT) is responsible for the daily operations and administration of laboratory to ensure compliance to regulations and accreditation standards. This includes daily routine laboratory work, performing phlebotomy, electrocardiogram and spirometry. MT is responsible to maintain professional care to patients and works closely with NUP and other stakeholders.

Job scope

• Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation and packing of specimens
• Perform laboratory analysis (e.g. Urine microscopy, full blood count, HbA1c), operate and maintain instruments according to work instruction.
• Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG and spirometry procedures.
• Responsible to verify and report accurate results in timely fashion; investigates and reports any anomalies.
• Responsible to perform daily quality control check and troubleshoot as required.
• Ensure proper documentations and records for traceability (e.g. acknowledgement on QC and maintenance checklist after completion).
• Assist to resolve patient’s queries and escalate to centre-IC when necessary.
• Adhere to work safety guidelines and infection control protocols to ensure staff and patient safety.
• Assist centre-IC in tasks as assigned.

Qualification

Degree in Medical Laboratory/Biomedical Science or related fields.

Prior experience working at clinical laboratory at public or private healthcare establishment is advantageous but training will be provided

Experience in phlebotomy and heel prick sample collection will be advantageous but training will be provided

Effective communications and ability to converse in vernacular languages is an asset

Able to work in a fast-paced environment and with good problem solving skills

Possess positive attitude in resolving hostile and disgruntled patients professionally

Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines

Good interpersonal relationship skills and enjoy working as a team

Computer literate – knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be advantageous
