The Speech-Language Therapist will plan and implement tailored communication interventions, conduct assessments, develop individualised therapy plans, and provide face-to-face therapy for students with hearing loss in mainstream schools.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement communication interventions tailored to the needs of students with hearing loss.
2. Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and communication challenges, developing individualized therapy plans.
3. Provide face-to-face therapy sessions for students from MOE’s pre-schoolers to post-secondary levels in mainstream schools.
4. Offer consultations and training to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support student communication goals.
5. Develop, implement, and review appropriate intervention plans in alignment with each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
6. Collaborate with teachers, Special Educational Needs Officers, parents, and other stakeholders during school visits, meetings, and reviews.
7. Monitor student progress and adjust therapy goals as needed.
8. Stay updated on the latest advancements in speech-language pathology and technology.
Requirements:
· A Bachelor or Master degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Therapy from a recognised university.
· Full registration with AHPC, with at least two years of clinical experience.
· Experience working with children and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· A heart and passion for serving the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community.
· Proficiency in or willingness to learn Singapore Sign Language (SgSL).
This role can be tailored to suit either a full-time or part-time work schedule.
