MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(A) SPECIFIC
1. Monitor and audit activities pertaining to department performance indicators, and initiates action to ensure that:
a. Service standards are consistently met.
b. Related costs and revenue are accounted for, and accurately recovered.
c. Control of inventory is carried out effectively and efficiently.
d. Workflow is continually streamlined.
e. Training programmes are implemented and objectives are met.
2. Responsible for monitoring that adequate staffing is maintained for all staff levels, in the various Pharmacy Sections.
3. Audit procedures to ensure adherence to policies, practices and regulations established by the department, hospital and external regulatory agencies pertaining to pharmacy.
4. Represent the department on various committees and performs other job-related duties as assigned by Chief, Pharmacy.
5. Ensure that the department supports the various activities organized by the hospital by getting staff to participate in QC, community projects, staff welfare and recreational activities and etc.
6. Supervise performance, conduct appraisals, write reports and make recommendations for confirmation, promotion and training needs of subordinates.
7. Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Chief, Pharmacy.
Patient Care aspects
1. Monitor standards for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to ensure concordance with the agreed standards of practice.
2. Actively participates in Pharmacy education and developmental programmes:
3. Provide lectures to Pharmacy staff and other hospital employees on pertinent topics.
4. Practice continued reading of journals, publications, etc for our professional advancement.
5. Responsible for the implementation and adherence to policies, practices and regulations established by the department, hospital and external regulatory agencies pertaining to pharmacy.
6. Provide relevant training to pre-registration pharmacists and pharmacy students.
7. Supports the hospital by participating actively in the various activities organized by the hospital. Activities include QC, community projects, staff welfare and recreational activities and etc.
(B) GENERAL
1. Supports Chief, Pharmacy in establishing and implementing policies and procedures related to provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care and services to meet the needs of patients.
2. Cover the duties of Chief, Pharmacy in his/her absence.
3. Attend to and resolve day to day issues arising from and related to workflow
JOB REQUIREMENTS
(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited University recognized by the Singapore Pharmacy Council
- More than 8 years of work experience in Pharmacy
- Exhibits understanding and capability of runing pharmacy operations and national indicators pertaining to pharmacy professional development
(B) PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
- Registered with the Singapore Pharmacy Council
- Valid practicing certificate
