Successful candidates will join the Health and Social Sciences (HSS) Cluster (one of five domain clusters in SIT), as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and deeply involved with industry transformation through their applied research programmes.

Faculty in the HSS Cluster undertake funded industry-relevant research, teach courses in Diagnostic Radiography, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Population Health, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy as well as supervise graduate industry masters and doctorate students in relevant topics. They are also provided with paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or spend time attached to work with industry.

We will prioritize collegial and team-spirited candidates with either (a) an earned PhD or equivalent from a reputable university with specialization in any of the above-mentioned areas and some relevant work experience, or (b) extensive industry experience with demonstrated strong technical expertise in the above-mentioned areas.

About The Role

As a Staff Nurse in the endoscopy unit, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare to our clients' patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, each contributing to a smooth and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Clinical Experience: Assist in various endoscopic procedures, utilising your knowledge and skills to support the medical team effectively.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with colleagues, patients, the patients' families, to provide education and support when needed.
• Documentation: Accurately document patient care and procedure details in line with clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in feedback on quality to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Experience/Skills Required:

• Experience in a permanent nursing role.
• Experience with endoscopy would be advantageous and preferred.
• Good bedside manners and interpersonal communication skills.

Education/Qualification

• Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
• Recognised educational qualifications in Nursing.

Work Schedule

• 5.5 Days a week
• On call for a week (Once or Twice a month)
• Weekdays 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm
• Saturdays Half Days

Responsibilities:

• Accurately record patients' physical assessments, including height, weight, visual acuity, audiometry, and nursing observations.
• Follow strict infection control protocols and uphold aseptic techniques during patient care.
• Conduct routine checks on medical equipment, surgical supplies, and instruments to ensure readiness.
• Collect and review laboratory results, X-ray reports, and feedback from specialists.
• Follow up with physicians on lab, X-ray, and other diagnostic results for further analysis.
• Ensure prompt availability of results and immediately notify the doctor of any urgent or abnormal findings.
• Manage clinic communications, including emails, phone calls, patient inquiries, and coordination of patient appointments and bookings.
• Register new patients, update their records, and send timely reminders for upcoming appointments.
• Process insurance claims and manage coverage for consultations, treatments, medications, surgeries, or hospital admissions.
• Communicate with Japanese insurance companies to obtain Letters of Guarantee (LOG).
• Coordinate with specialist clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and radiology departments for billing purposes.
• Follow up on outstanding payments from corporate clients, insurance companies, and self-paying patients.

Requirements:

• Must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinic or general hospital setting.
• Skilled in setting up and performing IV cannulation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work effectively under pressure.
• Knowledge in Platos System

• Responsible for providing quality occupational therapy treatment as an effective member of the rehabilitation team.
• Work out individual care plan and treatment goals for each client.
• Provide occupational therapy treatment for Inpatient Wards.
