Key Responsibilities

• Regularly inspect facilities, plants, and equipment to identify and mitigate risks.
• Oversee the validity of operational licenses, approvals, and equipment certifications.
• Conduct routine compliance checks, risk assessments, investigative processes, and produce comprehensive reports.
• Maintain and provide access to all relevant GHS requirements and Safety Data Sheets.
• Design and schedule emergency and safety protocols training.
• Create and implement comprehensive policies related to fire safety, ESH risks management, training programs, and enforcement compliance.
• Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements (MOM, NEA, PUB, SCDF, LTA), and act as an expert safety advisor on engineering and process design, as well as the procurement of plants, machinery, and services.
• Maintain standards for ISO 14001:2015 (EMS), ISO 45001:2018, SS 651:2019 (OHSMS), and BizSafe Level Star certification requirements.
• Promote safety culture within all organizational tiers and among contractors, aimed at preventing workplace injuries and illnesses.
• Plan and coordinate events to elevate fire safety and occupational health awareness.
• Fulfill duties as a Safe Management Officer, implementing and monitoring Safe Management Measures at the workplace.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
• Must be a Registered Safety Officer with MOM.
• Possession of FSM qualification recognized by SCDF preferred.
• 5-10 years of relevant ESH experience in the chemical, petrochemical, hazardous waste management, or a similar manufacturing sector.
• In-depth knowledge of ESH legislation, regulations, and best practices.

Essential/Primary Responsibilities:

Assists the Director with daily personal administrative duties and completes a broad variety of tasks to ensure the Director’s day run smoothly. This includes:

1. Calendar, Communication & Time Management:

· Manage an active calendar of daily appointments and events for the Director.

· Able to adapt to the changing needs of the Director and to adjust any schedule items as required.

· Plan, coordinate and ensure the Director’s schedule is followed and respected.

· Screen and manage phone calls for the Director; Assist in circulating documents for signatures.

· Manage time effectively for the Director, ensuring focus on high-priority and important tasks.

2. Travel Arrangements:

· Manage detailed travel plans, itineraries and agendas which includes booking of flights, accommodation, visa applications, transportation etc.

· Organize and maintain receipts, records, and documentation for company claim.

· Prepare and submit expense report for the Director.

3. Information Management:

· Conduct research, gather information and present data in a succinct and well-written manner.

· Distil all information received to a timesaving yet informative summary to the Director.

4. Event Planning:

· Assist in planning and organizing personal events, conferences or functions.

5. Liaison Role:

· Act as a liaison between the Director and other staff members and external contacts.

· Works closely and effectively with the Director to keep her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.

6. Personal Support:

· Provide personal support to the Director, which include managing personal appointments, running errands or engaging in other activities (e.g. daily life tasks such as dropping off /picking up of personal items).

· Be on-call and on standby, continuously available. Must be ready to assist whenever required.

· Flexibility to travel as and when required.

· Able to work flexible hours when required.

· Any other ad-hoc assignments/projects assigned by the Director.

Experience & Education:

· Diploma / Certification in Business Management

· Minimum 3 relevant experience in providing significant secretarial / personal administrative support

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Dr. Tian Chong on organic synthesis under a project on Bridging Chemistry and Biology: synthesis, structure, and properties of Mechanically Interlocked Peptides (MIPs).

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Research tasks (90%): to carry out research to design and synthesize rotaxanes via novel active template strategies.
• Laboratory safety/ordering (10%): to aid in ordering and maintaining lab supplies, create and review standard operating procedures and risk assessments, assemble reagents, chemicals and media that are needed for experiments.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

• PhD of Science required with major in Organic Chemistry. Candidate with strong background in organic synthesis and excellent record of publication is preferred.

Skills:

1. Have an excellent understanding of chemistry.
2. Have expertise in multi-step synthesis.
3. Communicate well in English in writing and in oral and visual presentations.
4. Show an ability to work supportively in a laboratory environment.

Experience:

• Experience in organic synthesis and spectroscopic techniques for compound characterization.
